Position Summary Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) is seeking an accomplished procurement manager to execute a sustainable customer engagement model that strengthens how procurement partners with Clinical Development stakeholders and strategic suppliers. This role focuses on when and how Procurement engages ensuring earlier involvement and clearer alignment while maintaining BMS standards for compliance, quality and governance. The role works in close partnership with Clinical Development, Category Leads, and enablement functions to ensure procurement is experienced as a trusted business partner not solely a transactional or control function. Role Overview This position reports to the Director, Category Group Head, Specialized Services & Engagement Strategy within Clinical Development Procurement. The role partners closely with stakeholders across Clinical Development functions, as well as with cross-functional teams throughout the organization. In addition, it collaborates with Category Managers across Clinical Development Procurement to ensure cross-domain alignment in stakeholder engagement, supplier innovation, and operational execution. This role places a strong emphasis on enhancing both internal and external partnerships, driving supplier innovation, and advancing operational excellence. It is also responsible for establishing clear benchmarks and KPIs to measure and demonstrate the impact of the Clinical Development Procurement team on business outcomes. Key Accountabilities Center of Excellence – Clinical Development Procurement Engagement · Help establish and operationalize a Center of Excellence (CoE) for Clinical Development Procurement engagement. · Define and execute appropriate benchmarking approaches to assess engagement effectiveness (internal and external). · Recommend practical engagement tactics based on benchmarking insights and stakeholder feedback. · Establish and track clear KPIs to measure impact on business outcomes and stakeholder experience. · Continuously evaluate results and refine engagement practices to drive ongoing improvement. Category Management · Support the development and execution of category strategies within Clinical Development, ensuring alignment with enterprise procurement frameworks and business priorities. · Assist in leading sourcing events and category reviews to deliver integrated sourcing strategies and ensure successful program execution. · Contribute to delivering measurable value and productivity outcomes through data-driven category strategies across assigned supplier portfolios. · Partner with Category Leads to ensure contractual arrangements embed KPI-driven accountability and compliance obligations aligned with category objectives. · Support cost-reduction, value-enhancement, and productivity initiatives across assigned Clinical Development categories in collaboration with Category Managers. Customer Engagement Strategy & Execution · Conduct ongoing assessment of the Procurement engagement process and identify improvement opportunities. · Support implementation of the Clinical Development Procurement strategy to enhance internal and external partnerships. · Coordinate earlier and more consistent Procurement involvement in Clinical Development planning and execution activities. · Promote consistent application of the engagement model while minimizing unnecessary complexity. Strategic Relationship Management · Partner with Category Leads to implement and sustain a structured Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) framework across the Clinical Development supplier portfolio, ensuring consistent tiering, engagement cadences, and performance oversight. · Support the operationalization of SRM governance processes, including supplier scorecards, business reviews, and escalation protocols aligned with BMS standards. · Contribute to the continuous evolution of the SRM framework by incorporating supplier feedback, performance data, and benchmarking insights to drive maturity and scalability. · Partner with Category Leads and Clinical Development stakeholders to ensure supplier engagement is aligned with business priorities. · Capture and synthesize supplier insights and feedback to inform improvements to the engagement model. · Track defined supplier engagement metrics and prepare evidence-based summaries for leadership. Cross-Functional Collaboration · Build and maintain strong working relationships with R&D, Clinical Development, Finance, Legal, and other functional partners. · Partner with Clinical Development stakeholders to understand priorities, needs, and execution risks. · Facilitate effective collaboration between Clinical teams, Category Leads, and cross-functional partners. · Gather structured feedback on Procurement engagement effectiveness and identify opportunities for enhancement. Governance & Continuous Improvement · Partner with Category Managers and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the SRM framework is embedded within broader procurement governance structures and aligns with enterprise compliance and quality expectations. · Support adherence to contractual, financial, and compliance requirements in collaboration with Legal, Privacy, and Compliance. ·
