A Day in the Life Managing the team of electrical, firmware and systems engineers engaged in design, development and maintenance of medicals devices in CST portfolio. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. Manage a cross functional (FW, ME, HW, Systems) engineering technical team. Responsible for all areas of electro-mechanical development including motor drives, electric HW and controller FFW and FW interfaces. Work with engineers on critical issues, developing action plans and driving corrective actions Provide a blend of people management and technical savviness. Should have worked on development of products and on successful delivery of solutions. Review and verify technical drawings and specifications of electrical systems, mechanical systems, and motor drives to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and requirements. Should have knowledge of CTQs for review and verification of detailed multi-view drawings of assemblies and sub-assemblies Identify the needs and prepare capabilities in the cross functional areas including mechanical, HW and FW development, and verification & validation to foster full turnkey solution to the business. Provide a deep understanding of the mechanical systems and application of motor controllers Research and maintain solution architecture, technical design, tools and technology stack and related system and drive proof of concept efforts in MEIC. Must be able to support the global team in organic, blended, inorganic product development projects. Support the technology road map of Medical Devices by proactively pitching for technology development and turnkey projects. Develop junior members by coaching, empowering, reviewing results, both in technical areas and in “soft” skills. Identify solution knowledge gaps within MEIC in Medical Devices solutions and prepare plans to address them ( strategic alliances and self-managed teams ) Required Knowledge and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & communication Engineering or Electrical Engineering. A Master’s degree is preferred Experience of minimum of 15+ years in product development with at least a min of 10+ years in electro-mechanical device development & verification. Experience in development of distributed electro-mechanical products, team building skills, talent management, conflict resolution, and global cross-functional stake holder management are critical to the role. Good hands-on experience in motor controllers and their FW development, mechanical design of drive trains and HW development and systems integration is essential. Deep understanding in product development processes & regulations (IEC 60601, IEC 62304, ISO 13485, ISO 14971) design controls for medical device development in order to coach and guide the technical leads is expected. Experience to guide the team to conceptualize new methodologies, materials, machines, processes, and products. Manage feasibility studies of the design/change to determine intended functionality. PRINCIPAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS The incumbent would work with the project management office at MEIC to ensure that resource forecasts, project metrics are correctly captured and presented to the leadership Frequent interaction with team members from other disciplines, cross functional teams, to understand project requirements and to adhere to project schedules. Possible interaction with clinicians, third-party vendors, manufacturers, and subcontractors.
