Senior Histopathologist

YOUR ROLE As Senior Histopathology at Enveda, you will own the end-to-end quality and throughput of our histopathology function — leading a team of 4-5 technicians, overseeing the full tissue processing workflow from grossing to slide delivery, and ensuring every slide that reaches our pathologists meets the highest scientific standard. This is a role for someone who is both a skilled bench scientist and a people leader who takes genuine pride in the quality of their team's output. WHAT YOU'LL DO Lead, train, and mentor a team of 4-5 histopathology technicians — managing daily workflow, setting quality standards, and building bench capability across the team Oversee the complete histopathology process: tissue grossing, fixation, embedding, sectioning, H&E and special staining, IHC, and final slide QC before pathologist review Implement and monitor internal QC programmes; maintain accurate documentation, TAT tracking, and compliance with SOPs, safety protocols, and accreditation requirements Maintain and troubleshoot histopathology equipment (microtomes, tissue processors, embedding stations, stainers); coordinate preventive maintenance, calibration, and reagent inventory Coordinate with project and team leads on special staining requests and urgent studies; prepare periodic quality and performance reports for management WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR MVSc in Pathology with 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a histopathology laboratory, including demonstrated team supervision Expert in tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, H&E and special staining, and IHC; strong knowledge of laboratory quality systems Proven leadership and mentoring ability — comfortable setting expectations, running skill assessments, and building team capability Strong organisational skills, QC mindset, and clear written and verbal communication; familiarity with LIS is a plus We hire for trajectory, not just credentials.
