Your Role The Facilities - Electrician, Sr. Technician at Baxter is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and devices within the Baxter Healthcare facilities. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and attention to safety protocols. What You'll Be Doing Electrical Systems · Install, test, and maintain electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems. · Perform routine maintenance on electrical equipment, including motors, generators, and switchgear. · Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults, including circuit breakers, fuses, and electrical panels. Leadership and Mentoring: · Assisting with leading and mentoring facilities technicians, providing guidance and support in fixing and repair activities. · Train new technicians as needed. Facilities Repairs and Fixing · Perform repairs and maintenance on a wide range of facilities systems, including plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry · Fix and resolve issues with facilities equipment, including pumps, motors, and controls · Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and prevent equipment failures · Collaborate with vendors and contractors to resolve complex issues and ensure accurate completion of projects · Perform other duties as needed or assigned. · Ensure that all work areas are clean, organized, and compliant with 6S, health and safety regulations. Additional Responsibilities · Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections, and prepare reports for management on facility performance and compliance. · Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards. · Identify and mitigate electrical hazards, including arc flash and electrical shock risks. · Follow safety procedures to prevent electrical accidents. · Maintain documentation of facilities systems, including maintenance records and repair histories. · Stay up to date with industry developments and best practices in facilities management and electrical systems. Collaboration: · Provide exceptional customer service to employees, management, and visitors · Collaborate with facilities management, engineering, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of facilities services · Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of services Emergency Response: · Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and perform repairs as needed to ensure a safe working environment. Inventory Management: · Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring that necessary materials are available for repairs and maintenance tasks. · Report any missing or damaged equipment or tools. · Requisition for any replacement resources needed. Safety Compliance: · Proactively contributes to a zero-harm workplace by complying with legal and corporate EHS requirements, safe work practices, and EHS policies and procedures consistently. · Report all hazards, near misses, and incidents as soon as practicable and participate in identifying actions to prevent harm to employees and the environment. · Ensure compliance with government regulations, legal documents, and safety and ethical standards, including obtaining necessary legal compliance training. · Employees at every level are responsible for quality (GMP) and FDA regulatory performance in the department to ensure that the quality program is met. What You'll Bring · Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. · Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. · Strong knowledge of safety regulations and protocols · Excellent communication and problem-solving skills · Ability to work independently and as part of a team y. Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s degree, Technical Trade School or US Military training is with experience is preferred. Experience: 5+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, with a focus on electrical systems · Minimum 5 years of experience as a licensed electrician, with at least 2 years of experience in a senior or lead role. · Experience with electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems. Required Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of electrical, HVAC, and carpentry systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair. · Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems and safety protocols. · Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. · Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in a fast-paced environment. · Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Required Qualifications: · Certifications : NYS Master Journeyman Electrician preferred · OSHA 30 Certification within 90 days. · Lock out Tag Out, Arc flash and electrical safety training certification preferred. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $68,000 - $93,500 annually. The estimated salary is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
