Maintenance Lead About Site Catalent’s Winchester, KY site is the company’s flagship U.S. manufacturing location for large‑scale oral solid dose forms, operating from a 180,000‑square‑foot facility with fully integrated development and analytical services. The site specializes in complex and controlled‑release oral dose technologies, supporting product development, technology transfer, and commercial manufacturing across pharmaceutical and consumer health programs. Winchester has a long commercial manufacturing track record, having launched 100+ products and producing billions of tablets and capsules annually, making it a critical site within Catalent’s oral dose network. Position Summary We have an opportunity for a Maintenance Lead to join our team. In this role, you will oversee and direct the work of shift site mechanics while supporting process engineers and maintenance management. You will review and prioritize work order requests and lead small-scale process improvement projects. This position is key to ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with all standards. Shift: 6 PM -6 AM 2-2-3 Location: Winchester, KY 100% Onsite The Role Coordinate daily shift activities of maintenance mechanics by working cross-functionally with all departments to ensure alignment Lead and document on-site classroom and hands-on training specific to maintenance and engineering activities Apply statistical methods to understand process variability and drive improvements Assist in determining process capabilities and bottlenecks, implement improvements, and develop contingency plans for capacity and productivity increases Monitor key equipment performance metrics such as downtime and reject trends Provide technical investigations for plant issues related to maintenance and engineering Collaborate with process engineers to identify equipment failure modes and maintenance strategies Communicate and work with vendors and manufacturers for supplies, equipment, and troubleshooting guidance Promote a strong safety culture, identify hazards through Job Safety Analyses, and support countermeasure implementation Work collaboratively with other maintenance leaders to ensure communication, standardization, knowledge sharing, and team success Provide standardized shift reports to the maintenance and engineering group at the end of each shift Ensure proper shift exchange between operations support maintenance teams Escalate challenges faced by the team in a timely manner Ensure full compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) Perform other duties as required in support of Catalent Pharma Solutions high performance The Candidate Minimum Requirements High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) and 3+ years of experience in a pharmaceutical, food, biotechnology, or chemical manufacturing environment Experience in programming operator interfaces Ability to troubleshoot simple hardware and software problems Knowledge of pneumatic control systems and components Experience with motor controls and advanced programming of Variable Frequency Drives Understanding of equipment used in pharmaceutical manufacturing Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, operations technicians, customers, and staff; proficient in English Ability to provide detailed documentation in support of projects Basic understanding of project management activities Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings Familiarity with test equipment such as digital voltmeters, temperature probes, and current sensing devices Experience creating electrical drawings, system drawings, and panel layout sheets Experience with Microsoft Office Experience with preventative maintenance programs or automated calibration management programs Knowledge of building utility equipment such as boilers, air compressors, and chillers Experience with various electrical voltages for industrial power and control wiring Knowledge of national electric code and local wiring codes Experience calibrating various types of process sensors Experience with control panel layouts and design Good working knowledge of computers and software systems such as email, word processing, and spreadsheets Ability to use hand and power tools Ability to use electrical testing equipment such as ammeters, voltmeters, temperature probes, and pneumatic calibrators Ability to read, understand, and use electrical drawings, system drawings, panel layout sheets, and wiring diagrams Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk, kneel, and squat for an extended period of time Specific vision requirements include reading written documents and frequent use of a computer monitor Preferred Skills & Background Associate degree in a technical major or vocational certificate in a related field preferred Why You Should Join Catalent Positive and fast-paced working environment focusing on continual improvement and innovation Competitive Paid Time Off plus 8 paid holidays Medical, dental, and vision benefits effective day one of employment Tuition reimbursement to help you finish your degree or earn a new one Site-based employee engagement activities such as NCAA Basketball Brackets, Golf Scrambles, Annual Onsite Pet Adoption Events, and mentorship partnerships with local schools Employee Resource Groups focu
