Job description

The Company Dexcom Corporation (NASDAQ DXCM) is a pioneer and global leader in continuous glucose monitoring (CGM). Dexcom began as a small company with a big dream: To forever change how diabetes is managed. To unlock information and insights that drive better health outcomes. Here we are 25 years later, having pioneered an industry. And we're just getting started. We are broadening our vision beyond diabetes to empower people to take control of health. That means personalized, actionable insights aimed at solving important health challenges. To continue what we've started: Improving human health. We are driven by thousands of ambitious, passionate people worldwide who are willing to fight like warriors to earn the trust of our customers by listening, serving with integrity, thinking big, and being dependable. We've already changed millions of lives and we're ready to change millions more. Our future ambition is to become a leading consumer health technology company while continuing to develop solutions for serious health conditions. We'll get there by constantly reinventing unique biosensing-technology experiences. Though we've come a long way from our small company days, our dreams are bigger than ever. The opportunity to improve health on a global scale stands before us. Meet the team: The IT Infrastructure Platform Services team is responsible for the back-end platforms that run Dexcom's global technology estate: multi-cloud hosting across GCP, Azure, and AWS, enterprise AI platforms, datacenter and network services, compute and virtualization, and the identity and productivity core services that support 75+ enterprise applications, a global network interconnecting 36+ offices, 4 manufacturing plants, and 14,000+ employees/affiliates. The team operates as a single global platform engineering organization across the AMER, EMEA, and APAC regions and consists of approximately 84 staff and matrixed global business services engineering resources. This position reports to the VP of Information Technology, who in turn reports to the CIO / SVP of IT. The Director of Infrastructure Platform Services has four direct reports, Senior Managers who have global responsibility for Cloud Platform Services, Systems and Network, Core Services and Identity, and GBS Infrastructure Platforms. The Cloud Platform Services team provides public cloud platform management across GCP, Azure, and AWS, developer support, automation and configuration management, and enterprise AI platform engineering services. The Systems and Network team provides datacenter, network, compute, virtualization, and storage engineering services. The Core Services and Identity team provides identity and access management, Microsoft 365 and Entra engineering, unified communications, and workforce productivity services including Microsoft AI services. The GBS Infrastructure Platforms team provides global engineering and operations capacity across all platform functions. Where you come in: The Director of Infrastructure Platform Services will build and lead a high-performing platform engineering organization that delivers reliable, secure, and measurable infrastructure platforms through strong engineering leadership, operating discipline, and technical excellence. This position owns the strategy, design, execution, and operational management of Dexcom's cloud, AI, network, systems, and core services platforms, delivered as a portfolio of services with defined SLAs and customer feedback mechanisms. The director is the single accountable owner for enterprise AI platform capability, for the reliability of the platforms that commercial and manufacturing operations depend on, and for ensuring engineering excellence and systems stability. You will formulate a unified vision for IT infrastructure platforms, establish a service and technology roadmap that meets growing demand, and then execute that roadmap with defined SLAs and measurable customer outcomes across AMER, EMEA, and APAC. You will establish end-to-end global service ownership, define and achieve target service maturity levels, and continuously evolve services through customer feedback, performance metrics, and service roadmaps to deliver reliable, scalable, and business-aligned outcomes worldwide. You will establish and lead the systems reliability engineering across all infrastructure platforms, defining service level objectives, error budgets, observability, and incident and problem management discipline, and you will ensure platforms meet performance SLAs. You will consolidate enterprise AI platform ownership under a single accountable model, unifying Microsoft Copilot and M365 AI, Google, and OpenAI capabilities into a coordinated strategy, roadmap, and service offering. You will drive automation and AI across infrastructure platform operations, including infrastructure as code, centralization and automated configuration management, and leverage AI and agents to reduce manual toil and raise consistency. You will resource and drive the identity and access management program, strengthening Microsoft 365 and Entra technical leadership and sustaining the engineering capacity needed to modernize and secure the identity stack. You will assemble, lead, and develop a team of strong engineering leaders, challenge them on a technical level, establish engineering excellence as the standard, and partner closely with the Director of Digital Workplace Services, Information Security, Applications, and IT Business Partners to deliver integrated solutions. What makes you successful: You have a BS/MS in computer science/engineering, information technology, or technical field, or equivalent work experience. You have 12+ years of experience in the IT or engineering fields; 8+ years in a leadership role; 4+ years leading an infrastructure team or functional area. You possess deep, current technical knowledge across cloud platforms, networks, systems, and identity, and can provide technical direction and challenge your engineering teams on their architecture and design decisions. You have built or led a systems reliability engineering practice, with command of service level objectives, error budgets, observability, and incident and problem management. You have led enterprise AI platform adoption and can set a coherent strategy and service model across Microsoft, Google, OpenAI, and Anthropic capabilities. You have a track record of driving automation, including infrastructure as code, configuration management, and self-healing operations, to reduce toil and improve reliability. You operate as a global platform owner, designing service offerings with defined SLAs and customer feedback mechanisms, and you are quick to adopt innovative technology. You have a strong management operating system, can structure demand into actionable service roadmaps, and are comfortable delivering results using Agile methodologies. You can operate in a matrixed environment and manage a global team with remote staff across AMER, EMEA, and APAC, communicating and collaborating effectively with a complex, global customer base. What you’ll get: A front row seat to life changing CGM technology. Learn about our brave #dexcomwarriors community . A full and comprehensive benefits program
