Purpose: We are seeking an entry-level Associate Automation Specialist to provide hands-on, shift-based support for automated manufacturing equipment and operational technology (OT) systems. This hourly position will focus on production-floor support, preventive maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, routine system checks, and clear documentation. The specialist may also support automation projects, equipment upgrades, and improvement activities as assigned. You will be responsible for: Provide hands-on automation and OT support for manufacturing operations during the assigned shift. Respond to and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, sensor, communication, computer, network connectivity, and automated equipment issues. Perform routine system checks, approved resets, backups, basic testing, and configuration activities in accordance with procedures. Document work performed, communicate equipment status, and provide clear information during shift handoffs. Execute assigned preventive maintenance activities for automated equipment and OT systems. Perform inspections, backups, functional checks, and other scheduled maintenance tasks using approved procedures. Identify recurring equipment issues and communicate opportunities to improve reliability and reduce downtime. Follow applicable safety, quality, change-control, data-integrity, and cybersecurity requirements when supporting equipment and OT systems. Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, IT, and external suppliers to restore and maintain equipment operation. Support automation projects, equipment upgrades, testing, and startup activities as assigned. Qualifications / Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Automation, Robotics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical field is required, or candidates must be on track to complete their degree by December 2026. Zero to two (0-2) years of relevant experience required. Recent graduates and early-career professionals are encouraged to apply. Internship, apprenticeship, co-op, academic project, laboratory, maintenance, or other hands-on technical experience is highly valued. Experience with PLC or industrial control systems is preferred. Experience with HMI or SCADA applications is preferred. Usage of industrial equipment, sensors, instrumentation, robotics, electrical systems, or communications is preferred. Experience with computer hardware, software, networking, or technical troubleshooting is preferred. Technical documentation and safe work practices are preferred. Exposure to Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff, Ignition, Wonderware, FactoryTalk, or similar platforms is preferred. Exposure to GMP, validation, data integrity, or another regulated environment is preferred. Exposure to industrial networking, OT systems, equipment maintenance, data collection, or reporting systems is preferred.
