Path/Level: R5-6 Note: Roles are posted at the lowest level of a band, however, employees should search across all levels of the band to identify all opportunities. For example, if a P2 candidate is selected for a P1-P3 banded position, the candidate will remain a P2 in the new role. Responsibility The Clinical Research Scientist (CRS) is a therapeutically-aligned scientist whose primary role is to represent Medical Affairs in the cross-functional partnership with the brand team to meet both external customer and internal business needs. The CRS also provides key support to the Clinical Research Physician (CRP) roles. The primary responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Key Brand Team Member Serve as a key medical point of contact for the brand team: contribute clinical, scientific and strategic input to support the cross-functional team. Product launch medical planning and execution. Contribute to the development of local brand plans and medical strategies. By offering scientific and creative input, contribute to the development (local materials) and/or review (global/regional materials) of promotional materials for the brand teams. Effectively communicate and transfer knowledge of the responsible therapeutic area to the brand team. Provide training to internal business partners such as sales representatives and marketing counterparts. Provide aggregated customer information, insights and recommendations. Plan and implement relevant customer meetings, i.e. speaker training, advisory boards, scientific exchange and educational meetings/events, in line with brand strategy. Scientific Expertise and Medical Affairs Delivery Develop and/or contribute to the affiliate / therapeutic area medical plan and strategies. Support data analysis and the development of slide sets and publications (abstracts, posters, manuscripts). Support scientific data disclosure (SDD plans). May serve as the affiliate medical/scientific leader, including research and regulatory deliverables. Critically read and evaluate relevant medical literature to remain current in the therapeutic area. Keep up to date with medical and other scientific developments relevant to the product or portfolio. Be aware of current trends, issues and projections for clinical practice and access. Customer Support and Experience Respond to external customer questions and needs (including escalations by Medical Information and Sales) in accordance with requirements for responding to unsolicited requests for information. Local coordination of activities and engagement of thought leaders. Develop and maintain collaborations and relationships with relevant professional societies. Deliver scientific, educational and promotional presentations internally and to customers. Qualifications Advanced degree in health sciences (PharmD, PhD in a medically related field), or a master’s or bachelor’s level degree in health sciences (e.g. BSN, RPh, PA, NP). Relevant clinical or therapeutic area experience in cardiometabolic health is a plus. Effective verbal and written communication skills in both Chinese and English. Additional Skills / Preferences Intellectual curiosity about the field of cardiometabolic health. Learning agility to comprehend and effectively communicate large amounts of complex scientific content in a clear and concise fashion. Self-directed and able to work alone in the field, effectively managing multiple priorities and projects. Advanced presentation and computer skills, with expertise in literature identification. Effective strategic and critical thinking in order to analyze, assess and evaluate information and interpret its impact or relevance to future states. Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, including high emotional intelligence and the ability to engage in professional relationship building and networking. Experience in servicing customer needs for complex information. Significant experience in professional networking with mutually beneficial outcomes. Familiarity with health systems, academic communities, medical research and medical education processes is highly valued.
