The Opportunity This Programs and Solutions team sits within the Strategy and Solutions Chapter, which encompasses a number of different strategic and innovative teams. Our purpose is to guide strategic priorities, advance value delivery through solutions and digital excellence, govern compliance, and drive sustainability to deliver continuous improvement and strengthen Global Procurement’s impact on the wider Roche organization. As a Programs & Solutions Manager (Commercial & Corporate Services) , you will operate as part of a team that brings market expertise, supplier-driven innovation, and strategic execution capability to the organization. Adaptability & agility across cross-functional spaces is a core aspect of this role. You will flexibly navigate distinct procurement focus areas—spanning Commercial domains like marketing and media to Corporate Services including HR services, consulting and contingent labor—addressing emerging organizational priorities with agility Your work centers on driving business impact across two primary strategic pillars: Dual Program Management & Market Solutions Management: Driving end-to-end program delivery for strategic procurement initiatives while actively managing and contributing to co-creation of market-facing solutions. You will work with colleagues in a matrix organisation to translate business customer pain points into tailored, high-value procurement solutions and support the execution pipeline from concept to value realization. Complex Strategic Programs and Procurement Projects : Applying core procurement frameworks, data analytics, and structured program execution across diverse commercial and corporate categories. You will rapidly step into new problem spaces, establish structure, and collaborate with matrix teams to accelerate outcomes (e.g. cost transformations, category transformation, complex negotiations and strategic sourcing) As a Programs & Solutions Manager (Commercial & Corporate Services), you will play a variety of roles according to your experience, knowledge, and general business requirements, including but not limited to these core responsibilities: Deliver Complex Strategic Programs & Projects: Accelerate and enhance outcomes for high-stakes procurement initiatives. Contribute to or own workstreams in large-scale strategic programs (such as cost transformations, complex negotiations and sourcing strategy etc.) for senior stakeholders. Drive Market & Supplier-Driven Innovation: Co-create and deliver market and supplier-driven solutions (Digital and/or Service based) to meet customer needs and business challenges. Seek external market innovation and expertise by leveraging your specialised knowledge, strategic thinking, and ability to convert opportunities into tangible value. Act as a Subject Matter Advisor: Identify, clarify, and diagnose complex business customer problem statements in collaboration with Commercial & Corporate leaders and Global Procurement colleagues, seeking non-traditional avenues to accelerate value realisation. Deliver Tangible Impact Beyond Standard Metrics: Prioritise efforts to bring identifiable value in a dynamic global environment. Manage and execute a portfolio of solutions and projects that realise multifaceted value beyond traditional procurement metrics. Develop Frameworks and Approaches: Apply, refine, and champion solution frameworks, tools, and execution approaches for both "beyond-procurement" innovation models and complex strategic programs. Advocate and Enable: Advise and influence business stakeholders to align strategic direction and co-create solutions, leveraging market insights, storytelling, and data-driven recommendations. Foster Collaboration & Community: Build and nurture GP and Roche-wide cross-functional networks, cultivating an environment of radical collaboration, psychological safety, and shared best practices to scale success across the enterprise. Who You Are: You hold a University degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field. Experience: A seasoned expert in procurement (5+ years), with category experience in commercial (marketing) and / or corporate services (e.g. external workforce, consulting) ideally with management consulting experience. You have a proven record of leading supplier innovation, complex cost-out initiatives, or high-value negotiations. Structured way of Working : Proven ability to manage cross-functional strategic programs using structured methodologies while simultaneously designing and deploying market/supplier-driven solutions Data Literacy & Analytical Acumen: Strong data literacy with the ability to leverage data and insights to identify opportunities, quantify business impact, structure trade-offs, and track program performance Agile & Versatile Problem Solver: Demonstrated ability to step into new category spaces and complex business problem statements with ease, applying transferable procurement capabilities and structured thinking to establish clarity and momentum Challenger & Speed Mindset: Driven to challenge the status quo and look beyond standard procurement metrics. You value speed-to-impact and prefer scaling and repurposing proven frameworks over starting from scratch . Astute & Influential Communicator: Exceptional presentation and dialogue skills, capable of navigating senior-level discussions, influencing decision-making, and translating complex market opportunities into compelling business cases.
