The Regional Access Director (RAD) is a first-line people leader responsible for the development, coaching, performance management, and day-to-day execution of a geographically dispersed Field Access Manager (FAM) team. This position leads all field reimbursement activities within the assigned region to achieve key patient access objectives in alignment with company vision, values, compliance standards, and client expectations. The RAD observes field activity, identifies market opportunities and access barriers, and develops actionable regional plans that enable FAMs to support healthcare provider offices, strengthen account engagement, and improve patient access outcomes. This role is accountable for building team capability through regular field coaching, performance feedback, skill development, operating discipline, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders to optimize patient access. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Our employees are tasked with delivering excellent business results through the efforts of their teams. These results are achieved by: Coordinate in-field activity to maximize market, segment, and team dynamics to drive results. Serve as the first-line manager for assigned Field Access Managers, providing clear direction, prioritization, coaching, and accountability for regional field execution. Conduct routine field visits, ride-a-longs, coaching conversations, and performance reviews to reinforce compliant field behaviors, strengthen account planning, and develop individual FAM capabilities. Build and sustain a high-performing field-based team by identifying skill gaps, creating development plans, sharing best practices, and fostering a culture of engagement, inclusion, accountability, and continuous learning. Ensure smooth, collaborative efforts in both day-to-day and long-term business execution. Set tone and pace for business process and organization. Maintain required technical expertise to respond accurately to all questions regarding products, policies, and business-related issues from customers and representatives. Effectively plan and conduct plan-of-action and other meetings with members of corporate leadership. Have complete understanding of all relevant compliance laws, policies and processes. Ensure actions of self and team are fully compliant. Provide direction and insights to key internal partners in business planning process. Partner with training, analytics, compliance, HUB operations, client stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to ensure the field team is equipped with the tools, knowledge, reporting, and resources needed to execute effectively. In addition to the critical management and leadership tasks listed above, this role also includes the following unique responsibilities: Coach, mentor, educate and develop direct and indirect team members to enhance individual skills and elevate overall team performance. Establish individualized development plans for Field Access Managers that include measurable goals, coaching priorities, skill-building opportunities, and regular follow-up on progress. Translate business priorities, regional access insights, and performance data into coaching plans and team operating rhythms that support consistent field execution. #LI-CG1 MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: The requirements below represent the experience, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for this role. Bachelor’s degree required Healthcare degree advantageous, including MS, RN, PA, PharmD, or similar advanced healthcare/scientific degree. 12+ years in pharmaceutical industry with experience in payer policy and product access. 7+ years of experience in benefit verifications and/or prior-authorization requirements or equivalent experience in patient access. 3+ years leading successful field access/reimbursement teams including responsibility for coaching, developing, and managing performance of field-based team members. Detailed understanding of both pharmacy and medical benefit product models. Knowledge of Centers of Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)policies and processes with experience in Medicare Parts B & D coverage. Knowledge and understanding of specialty markets, HUB/reimbursement services, and patient access programs. Strong analytical skills to assess market dynamics, competitor activity, and continuous diabetes monitoring trends. Ability to gather and interpret data to guide regional strategy, including understanding the role of HUB and patient claims data. Technology/Equipment Computer Skills; Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and videoconferencing platforms (Teams, Zoom, GoTo Meeting). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Advanced degree preferred. Pediatric Endocrinology and/or Endocrinology experience preferred. Previous launch experience in Access/Reimbursement leadership role Previous experience in other functions within the biopharmaceutical industry a plus (e.g. product marketing, managed care, field sales, case management, or large healthcare practice experience).
