QC Scientist 2 (12m FTC)

Our Swindon facility houses our Zydis® fast dissolving tablet development and manufacturing operation as well as a CMC pharmaceutical analytical lab services unit that offers ASAP stability. Position Summary Shift: 07.00 - 19.00, 4 days on, 4 days off Location: Swindon, UK 100% Onsite We have an opportunity for a QC Scientist 2 (FTC) to join our team. In this role, you will perform quality control release testing of finished products using a range of analytical techniques. You will support validation studies, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice requirements. This position offers the chance to contribute to a high-performing team in a dynamic laboratory environment. The Role Perform QC release testing of finished products using techniques including High-Performance Liquid Chromatography, Dissolution, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy, Karl Fischer, Ultraviolet, Thin Layer Chromatography, pH and balances. Review analytical testing completed by junior scientists. Support validation studies by creating test plans and executing testing. Prepare stability reports and maintain accurate laboratory documentation. Identify and investigate Out of Specification/Out of Trend results and support deviation investigations. Ensure testing is completed accurately, on time, and in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice requirements. Interpret schedules and prioritise workload effectively. Maintain laboratory standards through 5S, stock management, and participation in laboratory rotas. Support audit readiness, training activities, archiving, and quality system compliance. Train colleagues where required and support team objectives. Adhere to Environmental Health & Safety, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health, and laboratory safety requirements, promoting a safe working environment. The Candidate Minimum Requirements Degree in a Scientific, Biotech or similar subject required or equivalent experience. Experience with High-Performance Liquid Chromatography. IT literate, including Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Preferred Skills & Background Team player. Good team collaboration skills.
