Job Description: General Description: The Event Management & Commercial Operations Senior Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing company-wide event coordination, as well as core operational processes primarily supporting Commercial and In-field activities. In addition to providing strategic and organizational leadership, this role actively engages in hands-on execution, particularly in event management, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and timely delivery of key commercial activities mainly. This role drives operational excellence by balancing strategic oversight with direct involvement in critical initiatives. The position serves as a key operational partner to Business Units, Medical, Compliance, and external vendors, while also functioning as a role model for best practices in execution, compliance, and cross-functional collaboration. Responsibilities: Strategic & Organizational Leadership Lead and develop the Event Management & Commercial Operations function, including people management, capability development, and workload prioritization. Define and implement the operating model, governance, and standards for event execution and commercial operations. Build a high-performing team by providing direction, hands-on support, coaching, and mentoring. Hands-on Event Management (Playing Manager Role) Personally plan, manage, and execute selected key company-led and co-sponsored events (e.g., national seminars, flagship congresses, high-impact regional meetings, webinars and company-wide meetings), acting as the primary operational owner when required. Oversee event logistics, including venue selection, operational planning, vendor coordination, production of materials, and on-site execution. Serve as the escalation point for complex or high-risk events, resolving issues related to compliance, operations, or execution quality. Event & Congress Governance Establish and maintain standards, guidelines, and workflows for event management across the organization. Ensure all events and commercial activities comply with internal policies, pharmaceutical promotion codes, data protection regulations, and applicable laws. Review and approve event operational plans, budgets, and execution approaches, while remaining closely involved in execution where necessary. Vendor, Budget & Resource Management Personally manage key vendor relationships while overseeing vendor strategy and performance across the function. Lead budget planning, cost control, purchasing, and contract management in collaboration with Finance and Procurement. Optimize resource allocation by balancing internal execution and vendor utilization. Commercial Operations Oversight (Marketing & Sales) Oversee end-to-end operational support for Marketing and Sales activities, while directly engaging in priority initiatives where hands-on involvement is required. Translate commercial strategies and requirements into practical, executable operational plans. Ensure smooth coordination between Marketing, Sales, Medical, Compliance, and external vendors. Compliance, Risk Management & Quality Assurance Work closely with Compliance, Legal, and Medical functions to ensure compliant execution of all commercial activities. Proactively identify operational and compliance risks and take hands-on actions to mitigate them. Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and audit readiness for events and commercial operations. Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence Use hands-on experience and post-event insights to drive continuous improvement in processes, tools, and ways of working. Analyze operational KPIs, event outcomes, and stakeholder feedback to enhance quality, efficiency, and scalability. Lead operational transformation initiatives, including standardization, digitization, and process optimization. Qualification Required: Education Required: Bachelor’s degree or above, medical or related majors preferred Qualification: Must Requirements 8-10+ years of experience in commercial operations, event management, or related operational roles within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, including lectures, co-sponsored seminars, congresses, and webinars. Proven hands-on experience in event management combined with experience leading a team or function as a playing manager. Solid practical experience in event operations, vendor management, purchasing, contract negotiation, and payment processes. Strong understanding of pharmaceutical promotion codes, fair competition regulations, data protection regulations, and internal compliance requirements. Demonstrated ability to lead company-wide or cross-functional initiatives , working closely with Marketing, Sales, Medical, Compliance, Finance, and other stakeholders. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage complex, high-impact initiatives while actively engaging in execution. Ability to proactively identify issues and risks in operations and resolve them through hands-on leadership and sound judgment. Business-level English proficiency, sufficient to handle emails, documents, and discussions with global/regional teams and external vendors. Preferred Requirements Experience in Marketing and/or Sales functions, or close involvement with commercial strategy and brand activities. Experience in establishing or scaling a new function, organization, or operational model. Hands-on experience using procurement and purchasing systems such as SAP and/or Ariba.
