Job Function: Communications & Corporate/External Affairs Job Sub Function: Product Communications Job Category: Professional All Job Posting Locations: Horsham, Pennsylvania, United States of America Job Description: We are searching for the best talent for a Director, Communications & Public Affairs, US Dermatology and Rheumatology. This role will be based in Horsham, PA on a hybrid schedule. The Director, Communications and Public Affairs, US Dermatology and Rheumatology is a high-performing communications professional who leads the planning, development, and implementation of communications strategies to help drive Johnson & Johnson’s Immunology business priorities, patient access, and reputation outcomes. The role leads product communications for the dermatological and rheumatological indications of TREMFYA®, ICOTYDE™ and nipocalimab, to tell a comprehensive and differentiated story that conveys J&J’s strong and growing leadership in Immunology, and that resonates with healthcare professionals, patients/caregivers, employees and other stakeholders. The Director will work in close partnership with leaders in our dermatology, rheumatology, and autoantibody teams, as well as the Communications & Public Affairs team and multiple cross-functional partners across the organization. Key projects include product launch and lifecycle communications;, market shaping communications;, patient/professional advocacy/community communications;, and strategic organizational communications. Operating within J&J Innovative Medicine’s integrated Communications & Public Affairs (CPA) model, the role builds strong relationships across the organization, including with Immunology Commercial Leadership, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Patient Advocacy, and the Harmonized and Unified Business Enablement (HUB) team. The Director will oversee one direct report and will draw on a strong communication skillset including business writing and presentation skills, media relations, executive coaching, speechwriting, change management, social/digital engagement, public affairs and policy communications, issues management and advocacy/influencer relations. This role reports to the Senior Director, Communications & Public Affairs, US Immunology, who sits on the Immunology Leadership Team. Key Responsibilities Strategic Communications Leadership Develop and implement comprehensive product communication strategies and plans for the dermatological and rheumatological indications of TREMFYA, ICOTYDE, and nipocalimab that align with the business priorities of the team and with the goals of J&J’s broader Immunology portfolio Lead the development and finalization of key messages, branding, and communication materials through a matrixed environment and in close partnership across key internal stakeholders Play a key role in the development and execution of J&J’s broader Immunology Communications strategy and planning, in partnership with the Senior Director, US Immunology Communications and Public Affairs, the Director, US Gastrointestinal and Autoantibody Communications, and with Global CPA partners Stakeholder Engagement & Product Communications Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, patient advocates and advocacy groups, and industry partners, to enhance communication efforts and foster collaboration Lead preparations for product milestones ensuring all communications activities are strategically planned and executed to maximize stakeholder engagement and success as measured through data and analytics Lead product communications with a vision and agility that effectively drive impact for key milestones and activations. Includes coordinating with colleagues/partners to seamlessly integrate public affairs approaches into a unified and comprehensive strategy for medical congresses, regulatory milestones and leadership/campaign opportunities Team Leadership & Collaboration Serve as a trusted partner to the TREMFYA, ICOTYDE, and nipocalimab leadership teams and key internal stakeholders (e.g., Marketing, Market Access and Medical Affairs) to maximize business opportunities through communication strategies and tactics that drive impact and the achievement of business goals Coordinate connections across the Communications ecosystem (e.g., Global Pharmaceutical Communications, Public Affairs, Executive and Employee Engagement, etc.); identify and expand upon opportunities while mitigating issues Lead and foster a culture of excellence and collaboration, and mo del a commitment to continuous improvement to ensure the function stays at the forefront of communications, change, technology, social media and other key trends Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in liberal arts, business or a related discipline; Master’s degree preferred Experience and Skills (Required): 8–10+ years of communications, public relations, advocacy, or related experience; pharmaceutical experience required. Proven experience managing high-profile company and/or product brands, with a significant emphasis on reputation and issues management Experience leading direct reports, with demonstrated leadership and development capabilities Strong communications skills, including writing, messaging, and executive-ready briefing support. Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in complex, matrixed environments with strong judgment and influencing skills. Experience supporting external stakeholder engagement and integrated campaign execution in partnership with cross-functional teams. Other: Up to 15% travel.
