DESCRIPTION: This role is a Category Specialist/Analyst role is responsible for gathering, analyzing and synthesizing procurement, supplier, market and financial data to generate actionable category insights. The role supports category strategy development, opportunity assessments, value capture reporting, supplier performance analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. The Category Analyst transforms complex data into meaningful insights that enable fact-based decisions, improve category performance and support the delivery of Procurement objectives. Scale of Responsibilities Provides analytical support for category portfolios and programs Performs spend, supplier, market and financial analysis to identify sourcing opportunities, cost-saving initiatives, demand management opportunities and other sources of procurement value. Develops category dashboards, executive-level presentations and analytical summaries that communicate key findings, trends, risks and recommendations. Evaluates supplier operational and financial performance metrics to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities. Performs data discovery, analysis and modeling to support business cases, financial assessments, scenario analysis and category strategies. Supports the monthly Value Capture Key Performance Indicator reporting process and communication of initiatives impacting global category programs. Tracks and reports key category targets, projects, pipeline, savings/value delivery and AOP financial targets using standard Procurement tools and processes. Aggregates and analyzes data from multiple systems, sources and formats to develop actionable category and program insights. Partners with Category Managers and business stakeholders to develop standard reporting requirements and improve Procurement processes across divisions, countries and sites. Identifies process inefficiencies, data gaps and automation opportunities that improve the quality, consistency and efficiency of Procurement analytics and reporting. Technical Responsibilities Conducts spend analysis, supplier analysis, cost and price analysis, market assessments and category opportunity assessments. Consolidates and synthesizes complex data sets from multiple internal and external sources to generate category insights and recommendations. Develops and maintains category dashboards, scorecards, reports and analytical tools to support Category Management decision-making. Supports Category Managers in developing category strategies, business cases, sourcing pipelines and opportunity assessments. Conducts external market research and benchmarking to understand supplier markets, pricing trends, inflation drivers, supply risks and emerging opportunities. Analyzes supplier performance metrics and supports development of supplier performance improvement opportunities. Tracks category initiatives and monitors progress against financial, operational and implementation targets. Supports savings and value validation by analyzing baselines, forecasts, actual results and relevant financial data. Writes clear, concise and well-structured business requirements, analytical summaries and recommendations. Supports the development and adoption of standard Procurement reporting methodologies, tools and processes. Uses Lean/Practical Process Improvement methodologies to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and increased analytical efficiency. Supports data quality and governance efforts to improve the accuracy and reliability of Procurement reporting and category analytics. Collaboration Responsibilities Partners closely with Category Managers, Procurement Enablement, Finance and business stakeholders to understand analytical requirements and deliver actionable insights. Proactively identifies trends, risks, opportunities and data gaps and communicates findings to appropriate stakeholders. Collaborates with Procurement teams to establish consistent metrics, reporting definitions and analytical methodologies. Supports targeted category deep dives by integrating multiple data sources and perspectives to enable structured problem solving. Works with Procurement Enablement and category teams to maintain a single source of truth for savings pipeline, inflation, category performance and other key Procurement metrics. Builds effective working relationships across functions, divisions and geographies to facilitate access to data and improve decision-making. Education Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, Data Analytics or a related field. Advanced training or certification in analytics, supply chain, Procurement or project management is desirable. Experience 3&#43; years of experience in Procurement, category analytics, strategic sourcing, supply chain, finance, business analysis or a related analytical role. Experience analyzing procurement and spend data to identify trends, opportunities and actionable business insights. Experience supporting category management, sourcing or supplier management activities in a matrix-based organization. Experience performing financial analysis, cost assessments, business case development, ROI analysis and/or supplier performance analysis. Experience developing dashboards, reports and executive-level presentations. Experience working with large and complex data sets from multiple systems and sources. Experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools. Experience supporting cross-functional projects and working with stakeholders across multiple organizational levels.
