The site develops and produces innovative diagnostic solutions used by laboratories and healthcare professionals around the world. About the Role Join our IT team at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Systems Analyst II and contribute to the technology solutions that enable our business to operate effectively and support our customers. In this role, you will act as a key link between IT and business stakeholders , working closely with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, translate requirements into effective technical solutions, and support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of critical business systems. You will leverage your technical expertise, analytical skills, and understanding of business processes to gather and document requirements, configure and test system enhancements, support deployments, and help ensure the smooth and reliable operation of enterprise applications. You will also provide technical guidance to stakeholders and team members, help resolve complex system-related issues, and contribute to continuous improvement and change management initiatives. Your work will directly support our site operations and contribute to Thermo Fisher Scientific’s mission to advance science and improve human health. Key Responsibilities Work closely with business partners and stakeholders to understand business needs, processes, and challenges. Gather, analyze, and clearly document business and system requirements. Translate business requirements into practical and effective technical solutions. Configure, test, implement, and support enhancements to enterprise applications and business systems. Collaborate with IT teams, business users, vendors, and other stakeholders throughout the system development and implementation lifecycle. Support the maintenance, optimization, and continuous improvement of critical business applications. Provide technical guidance and support to resolve complex system issues. Participate in incident, problem, and change management activities as required. Ensure that system changes and solutions comply with corporate IT standards, policies, and applicable regulatory requirements. Contribute to projects involving new systems, system upgrades, integrations, and process improvements. Identify opportunities to improve business processes through technology and automation. Support testing activities, including the preparation and execution of test scenarios and user acceptance testing. Provide mentoring and technical guidance to less experienced team members when appropriate. Manage multiple projects, activities, and priorities effectively while maintaining a strong focus on quality and delivery. Occasionally provide support outside standard business hours when required by business operations. Requirements Education & Experience Advanced degree with no prior professional experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of experience in systems analysis, business analysis, IT, or a similar technical role. Preferred fields of study include: Computer Science Information Systems Business Administration Engineering or another related field. Experience working with enterprise business applications or systems. Experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and technical requirements. Experience supporting system implementation, configuration, testing, deployment, or continuous improvement activities. Technical & Functional Skills Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and project management methodologies. Experience with enterprise systems such as SAP, ServiceNow, Oracle, or similar platforms . Good understanding of IT service management principles and change management processes. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant technical tools. Additional certifications such as ITIL, ServiceNow, SAP, Agile , or similar qualifications are an advantage. Experience working in regulated environments such as GxP, FDA, SOX , or other highly controlled environments is preferred. Ability to understand both technical concepts and business processes and translate between the two. Communication & Collaboration Good command of English, both written and spoken (minimum C1 level), is mandatory. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at different levels of the organization. Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills. Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a collaborative team environment. Comfortable working across functions and managing multiple priorities simultaneously. Experience mentoring colleagues or providing technical guidance is an advantage. <sp
