About the Position As a Workforce Optimization / Strategies (Data Science) Intern, you will join the Integrated Workforce Strategies Chapter within Roche's People & Culture organization, supporting the development of data-driven solutions that help shape our future workforce. You will gain practical experience in Strategic Workforce Planning, External Workforce Management, Skills Management, and People Analytics, contributing to initiatives that transform workforce data into meaningful business insights. Working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative, agile environment, you will have the opportunity to develop your analytical and programming skills while supporting projects with a real impact on Roche's workforce strategy. Your Key Responsibilities Data Analysis & Insights: Support the collection, analysis, and interpretation of workforce data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement. Workforce Planning: Contribute to Strategic Workforce Planning, External Workforce, and Skills Management initiatives, helping develop data-driven recommendations. Data Science & Automation: Use R and/or Python to support data processing, automate reporting activities, and improve analytical workflows. Reporting & Visualization: Develop dashboards, reports, and presentations using tools such as R Shiny, Streamlit, Excel, and PowerPoint to communicate meaningful insights. Process Improvement: Contribute to the development and optimization of workforce planning methodologies, tools, and analytical processes. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with People & Culture colleagues and other stakeholders to understand business needs and support workforce-related projects. Who You Are You have recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in one of the following fields or a related discipline: Business Administration and Management (ADE) Economics, Finance, or Business Analytics Human Resources Management or Labor Relations Mathematics, Statistics, or Data Science Computer Science or Artificial Intelligence Engineering or other relevant STEM disciplines You also bring: Strong interest in Data Science, People Analytics, workforce strategy, and technology. Knowledge of R and/or Python, ideally including data analysis and visualization libraries or frameworks such as dplyr, Shiny, or Streamlit. Good knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets, PowerPoint or Google Slides, and SQL. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail. Ability to interpret complex information and translate data into actionable insights. Good communication skills and a collaborative, proactive mindset. Good command of English, both written and spoken. Motivation to learn, develop new competencies, and contribute in an international and dynamic environment. Nice to Have Previous internship, academic project, or professional exposure to Human Resources, People Analytics, workforce planning, business intelligence, or data analytics would be an advantage, but is not required. Contract Eligibility – Important Information This opportunity is offered under the Spanish Contrato Formativo para la Obtención de la Práctica Profesional, a formal employment contract designed for recent graduates to gain professional experience related to their completed studies. To be eligible, candidates must: Have completed their qualifying studies within the last 3 years, or within the last 5 years for candidates with disabilities, before the contract starts. Meet the remaining legal requirements applicable to this type of contract, including restrictions relating to previous professional experience and previous training contracts.
