THE OPPORTUNITY: We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Specialist, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to join our Quality organisation within Abbott Diabetes Care. This is a highly visible specialist role, providing GMP expertise across the business to support the manufacture of life-changing healthcare products. As a recognised subject matter expert, you will work closely with Quality, Operations, Engineering and other cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards and Abbott procedures. You'll play a key role in supporting quality initiatives, driving continuous improvement and providing guidance on GMP requirements across complex projects and business activities. This position offers the opportunity to influence quality culture, support operational excellence and contribute directly to maintaining the highest standards of product quality and patient safety. Key responsibilities include: Providing expert guidance on Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements and expectations. Supporting the implementation and maintenance of effective quality systems and compliance processes. Partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure GMP requirements are embedded within manufacturing and operational activities. Leading or supporting complex quality and compliance projects across the business. Identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing effective solutions. Supporting internal and external audits, inspections and compliance activities. Driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, compliance and operational performance. Acting as a trusted quality resource, providing coaching and support to colleagues across the organisation. ABOUT YOU: We're looking for a quality professional who combines strong GMP knowledge with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. To be successful, you will have: An Associate's Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant scientific, technical or engineering discipline. In-depth knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality systems within a regulated industry. Experience supporting quality and compliance activities in a manufacturing environment. The ability to manage complex projects and deliver results across multiple stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset. Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organisation. A proactive approach and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams. Experience within the medical device, pharmaceutical or other regulated manufacturing industries would be advantageous.
