Senior Manager - Payroll

The Role The ideal candidate will have a strong customer service approach with a problem solving mentality, passionate about developing people and is an excellent communicator. The position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to handle extensive coordination across multiple internal customers and service providers. What You’ll Do Responsible for semi-monthly and bi-weekly multi-state US and Canada payroll and all equity related payroll tasks with strong service orientation and timely execution Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and multi-state employment requirements Drive process improvements and automation within payroll operations Partner closely with Employee Success, Accounting, IT, and external vendors to resolve any issues, maintain data integrity and improve payroll operations Partner with Employee Success team on employee matters such as new hires, terminations and leaves of absence Lead and develop a remote payroll team, fostering accountability, cross-training, and strong operational coverage Stay current on evolving payroll compliance requirements Partner with accounting team on payroll journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations Responsible for payroll related SOX controls and audit requests Requirements Progressive payroll experience, including 5+ years in payroll management Hands-on experience processing multi-state U.S. and Canada payroll Experience with Workday and ADP Experience processing equity compensation (RSUs and stock options) and related taxes Experience with mobility tax whether state to state or country to country High attention to detail and ability to consistently meet deadlines Excellent communication skills Nice to Have Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) Experience in a high-growth technology or SaaS company System implementation experience Interviewing with Veeva We value your time and believe in a transparent hiring process. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as variable bonus and/or stock bonus.
