Pay Range: $115,100.00 - $189,200.00 Job Purpose The Manager, Program Management leads the RNAscope project portfolio and the Newark-based Project Management Office (PMO) within the Spatial Biology Division (SBD). Reporting to the Director, PMO, who is accountable for the overall SBD PMO, this position provides local people leadership and portfolio oversight, while ensuring alignment with SBD-wide PMO governance, standards, priorities and reporting expectations. The role enables effective prioritization, execution and decision-making across new product introductions (NPI), sustaining, operational, process improvement and strategic initiatives. It partners closely with Product Management, R&D, Operations, Quality Assurance, Commercial, and other cross-functional leaders to deliver business priorities in alignment with company quality policies and established product commercialization processes. This role is also expected to directly manage multiple NPI and sustaining projects, process improvement initiatives and supervise a small team of project managers. Responsibilities Portfolio and Program leadership: Lead the RNAscope project portfolio and maintain an integrated view of priorities, milestones, dependencies, resources, risks, and expected business outcomes. Provide program and project management oversight for RNAscope initiatives, including RUO, OEM and IVD NPI projects, as well as sustaining, operational, process improvement and strategic initiatives, as applicable. Facilitate portfolio prioritization, capacity discussions, and risk-based decision-making; escalate issues and trade-offs when leadership action is required. Provide concise, decision-oriented portfolio reporting to SBD leadership, including progress, risks, dependencies, resource constraints, and recommended actions. Ensure consistent application of SBD PMO project and program management standards, tools, templates, and governance practices within the Newark PMO. Provide input for annual strategic planning and prioritization activities. Project execution: Lead cross-functional core teams through established product commercialization and stage-gate processes from concept through launch and post-launch follow-up. Develop and maintain clear project plans, milestones, decision points, resource needs, stakeholder communications and risk mitigation actions. Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to continuously improve relevant project management and product commercialization processes. Team supervision: Lead and develop a small team of Project Managers in the Newark PMO team through goal setting, coaching, workload allocation, performance support, and professional development. Build strong alignment between Newark and other SBD locations to support effective communication, handoffs and execution of shared priorities. Qualifications Education: Master’s degree or Ph.D. in scientific or related field with good understanding of spatial genomics technologies and in-vitro diagnostics concepts. PMP, PgMP, or an equivalent project/program management certification is preferred. Skills and Experience: At least 5 years of demonstrated project management experience, including responsibility for complex, cross-functional initiatives. Experience managing multiple projects or a portfolio, establishing governance, balancing competing priorities, and driving decisions with incomplete or evolving information. Experience in life sciences, biotechnology, diagnostics, or medical device product development is strongly preferred. Working knowledge of standard quality and regulatory practices; experience with regulated products (e.g. GPR, ASR, IVDR) is highly desirable. Advanced project planning, risk management, facilitation, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills. Working knowledge of project management tools. Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions, sites, and leadership levels. Highly organized, accountable, and comfortable operating independently in a dynamic and ambiguous environment.
