The US Medical Affairs (USMA) organization operates at the critical intersection of R&D, clinical development, and healthcare delivery, equipping healthcare providers and internal teams with actionable insights, evidence, and support amidst a rapidly evolving treatment landscape. As Associate Director, Advanced Medical Analytics, you will serve as a key technical and project leader within the Advanced Analytics and Clinical Trial Efficiency team. In this role, you will contribute to the vision, design, and deployment strategy for advanced analytics, AI/ML, and Real-World Data (RWD) solutions. You will work closely with collaborators across US Medical, R&D, and Global teams. Your goal is to speed up clinical trial execution, improve medical engagement, and support core medical operations using digital and AI innovation. Key Roles & Responsibilities Digital Innovation: Drive and support cross-functional digital innovation initiatives in close collaboration with commercial partners, embedding AI and analytics into business workflows as part of broader leadership efforts to scale AI across USMA. Next-Gen Capabilities & Digital Modernization: Guide dedicated technical analytics and engineering project squads in developing intelligent, scalable AI capabilities that modernize day-to-day operations and decision-making across both Field Medical and HQ teams. Ensure these capabilities are brought to life appropriately in new CRM initiatives. Hypercare and Collaborator Management: Work closely with end users to ensure appropriate prioritization, triage, and follow-through of issues related to deployed solutions. Operate in a light touch SCRUM manner, ensuring high trust with end users. Scale and Maintain: Coordinate technical squads through the agile development lifecycle, focusing on scaling existing capabilities across franchises within USMA and ensuring current analytical products are properly supported, enhanced, and maintained. Cross-Functional Partnership: Act as a trusted analytics partner to cross-functional leaders across USMA, Global R&D, and Commercial teams, translating complex business challenges into high-impact, fit-for-purpose analytical solutions. Product Delivery & Backlog Management: Manage the operational lifecycle of medical analytics tools and products, overseeing backlog refinement, sprint execution, quality standards, and continuous enhancement for tools in production. Role Qualifications & Requirements Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant quantitative or life sciences field (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Biomedical Informatics, Engineering, Mathematics). 3+ years of progressive experience delivering advanced analytics and data science solutions within the biopharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences consulting sectors. Proven experience guiding or leading technical project squads in developing and deploying AI/ML capabilities into enterprise or field business workflows. Demonstrated history of successfully delivering data science solutions across medical, commercial, or clinical development functions. Strong technical expertise in machine learning, GenAI, and modern NLP architectures applied to complex structured and unstructured healthcare datasets. Technical fluency across cloud ecosystems and modern data stacks (e.g., Python, SQL, Databricks, AWS, SageMaker, Git). Strong communication and collaborator management skills, with the ability to bridge technical concepts with business strategy and influence cross-functional partners Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., PhD, MD, or MBA with a quantitative concentration). 5+ years of life sciences analytics experience, with 2+ years leading technical project teams or data science workstreams. Domain expertise in Oncology and software development lifecycle / agile practices. Hands-on experience developing or scaling digital transformation or next-best-action style intelligence platforms for medical science liaisons (MSLs) and HQ functions. The annual base salary for this position ranges from $147,908-$221,862. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles) or to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles).
