The Manager, Vendor Management leads the strategy and execution of vendor partnerships that support Human Resources operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring high-quality, compliant, and cost-effective service delivery from third-party providers. You will drive performance, strengthen governance, and deliver continuous improvement initiatives that enhance employee experience and operational efficiency. This is a high-impact role with visibility across global HR and the opportunity to shape vendor strategy and service excellence. Key Responsibilities: Lead end-to-end vendor management activities, including selection, onboarding, performance monitoring, and offboarding Establish and manage vendor governance frameworks, including KPIs, SLAs, and compliance requirements Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance vendor performance, service quality, operational efficiency, and the overall employee experience Monitor vendor financials, including spend, cost trends, billing accuracy, savings opportunities, and budget alignment Manage the strategic relationship between J&J and vendors, ensuring strong partnership, clear accountability, and fair outcomes that protect and favor J&J’s interests Partner with HR, Procurement, Finance, Legal, and cross-functional teams to align vendor strategies with business objectives Analyze vendor performance and financial data to identify risks, opportunities, service improvements, and cost optimization strategies Oversee contract lifecycle management, including negotiations, renewals, and adherence to contractual obligations Ensure contract clauses are fair, clearly understood, and implemented effectively in day-to-day vendor operations Ensure data privacy, security, and regulatory compliance across all vendor engagements Manage escalations and resolve vendor-related issues in a timely and effective manner Develop and standardize vendor management processes, tools, and best practices across HR operations Qualifications Education: • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Supply Chain, or a related field required • Master’s degree or MBA preferred Experience and Skills: Required: Approximately 6–8 years of relevant experience in vendor management, procurement, HR operations, finance operations, or related fields aligned to manager-level roles Proven track record managing third-party vendors and driving service delivery performance Strong knowledge of vendor governance, SLA management, financial monitoring, and contract lifecycle processes Demonstrated ability to manage vendor relationships, protect company interests, and ensure contract terms are fair and effectively implemented Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret performance and financial data and drive actionable insights Ability to ensure compliance with organizational, regulatory, contractual, and data security standards Preferred: • Experience within HR shared services or HR outsourcing environments • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) • Exposure to global vendor management and multi-region operations • Knowledge of digital HR platforms and transformation initiatives • Experience in vendor risk management and compliance programs • Strong negotiation and contract management skills • Experience supporting large-scale transformation or outsourcing initiatives • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration capabilities • Effective problem-solving, decision-making, and issue resolution skills Other: • Language: Proficiency in English required • Travel: Occasional domestic and international travel may be required • Certifications: Certifications in vendor management, procurement, or project management (e.g., PMP, CIPS) preferred For more information on how we support the whole health of our employees throughout their wellness, career and life journey, please visit www.careers.jnj.com Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes.
