For more information, please visit www.resilience.com The Associate Director, EHS (Environment, Health, & Safety) & Security is a site EHS and Security leader responsible for sustaining a proactive, engaged safety and environmental culture across the West Chester and Blue Ash Sites. This role provides operational leadership and day-to-day oversight for EHS and physical security programs, ensuring regulatory compliance while driving continuous improvement, risk reduction, and employee ownership of safety. The Associate Director partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Planning, Legal, Human Resources and Corporate EHS/Security to implement scalable systems that protect employees, the environment, and the business, while enabling operational excellence and growth. Job Responsibilities Leadership & Culture Provide visible, values-based leadership to foster a strong, proactive EHS and security culture grounded in employee engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement. Serve as a trusted advisor to site and functional leadership, influencing decisions through data, risk insight, and practical solutions. Lead, staff, and develop the site EHS and Security organization, including third-party providers (e.g., occupational health, fitness, and security services); own workforce planning and performance management in partnership with HR and the Director, Process and Strategic Initiatives, building bench strength and succession depth. Champion site safety governance structures and floor level safety initiatives that encourage employee participation and ownership. May support the Director, Process and Strategic Initiatives on EHS and security-related decisions and external commitments in their absence. Strategy, Risk & Compliance Exercise delegated authority from the Director, Process and Strategic Initiatives for defined areas of the site's EHS and Security program, deciding independently within that scope — including in ambiguous situations with medium-term (6-12 month) implications — while balancing cross-functional trade-offs and escalating enterprise- or site-level trade-offs to the Director. Translate site and corporate EHS/security strategy into actionable plans, aligning resources to deliver against strategic priorities. Identify applicable environmental, health, safety, and security risks and ensure effective controls are designed, implemented, and sustained. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as corporate EHS policies, management systems, and industry best practices (e.g., cGMP, GAMP, ITIL, PMI, as applicable). Act as the recognized subject matter authority for EHS and security within the site; shape standards, best practices, and operating models, contributing to enterprise or cross-site working groups as needed. Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce injuries, incidents, environmental impact, waste, and costs while improving overall EHS system effectiveness. Establish, track, and improve EHS performance metrics; hold the team accountable for achieving site goals and leading indicators. Support sustainability initiatives for the site, including client-specific and corporate sustainability commitments. Partner with Operations and Engineering to integrate EHS requirements into processes, equipment design, and capital projects. Financial & Resource Accountability Partner with the Director, Process and Strategic Initiatives on operating and capital budget planning for the EHS and Security program — including EHS- and security-related equipment and facility investments with Operations and Engineering — and own delivery against the approved budget. Incident Management & Assurance Oversee the investigation of incidents and near-misses, ensuring robust root cause analysis and sustainable corrective and preventive actions. Ensure workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments are conducted effectively and result in meaningful improvements. Support and lead internal, external, customer, and regulatory inspections, including FDA, EMEA, and third-party audits. Manage work-related injuries and partner with HR as appropriate (e.g., workers' compensation, etc.). External Engagement & Reporting Build and maintain credible, professional relationships with regulatory agencies, customers, and other external stakeholders, and partner with EHSS leads at other Resilience sites to align practices. Ensure timely and accurate submission of required EHS reports, permits, and regulatory filings. Manage the use of external consultants, including defining scopes of work and overseeing performance. Governance & Ethics Conduct all activities in alignment with company values, the Code of Ethics, and supporting policies; ensure required training and reporting obligations are met. Experience & Education Minimum Qualifications Demonstrated EHS work experience with a primary focus in Health, Safety, and Industrial Hygiene programs. Working knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations and standards including OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA, and ANSI. Demonstrated experience applying EHS management systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing. Demonstrated ability to plan and implement complex programs and processes, and to drive change that delivers measurable results. Business acumen and demonstrated ability to build and lead cross-functional teams. Solid understanding of risk management as it relates to EHS and loss control. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management information systems.
