Your Impact The Vertex CASGEVY Change Management Co-Op is a 6-month experiential training program for students currently working towards a undergraduate degree or an advanced degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or other related fields. If you are passionate, collaborative, and growth-minded, a co-op at Vertex will help you gain meaningful experience in our CMTO, Casgevy Manufacturing functional areas and serve as a launchpad for your career. What you will be doing: The CASGEVY Change Management Co-Op will support change control activities within a regulated quality environment, gaining hands-on experience in QMS, lifecycle management, and operational excellence. The role includes: (1) tracking and transmitting active change controls, including ensuring internal and CMO records remain current and on time. (2) developing change control templates and AI guidance in alignment with Vertex SOPs and best practices. (3) supporting an operational excellence project to create a lean, AI- and systems-enabled solution for change control planning, prioritization, transmission, and tracking from idea to closure. This is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in quality systems, process improvement, and the application of AI in a biotech/pharmaceutical environment. Key Responsibilities: 1. Transmission and Tracking of Active Change Controls Support the coordination, transmission, and tracking of active change controls across internal teams and contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs). Monitor timelines and follow up with stakeholders to help ensure change controls remain on track and are completed on time. Contribute to status reporting and metrics related to active change controls. 2. Template Generation with AI Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to develop and create change control templates for use across different functional areas. Support the development of AI-enabled content guidance for change control documentation. Help create and refine master AI guidelines for drafting change control content in alignment with: Vertex SOPs, Quality and compliance expectations, Change control best practices 3. Operational Excellence Project Work closely with the manager to support an Operational Excellence initiative focused on improving the end-to-end change control process. Help develop a lean, scalable solution for change control planning, prioritization, transmission, and tracking from idea through closure. Qualifications: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in: Life Sciences, Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, Quality/Regulatory, Business Operations, Or a related discipline Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow through on deadlines Strong written and verbal communication skills Interest in quality systems, regulated processes, and operational improvement Ability to work independently while collaborating across functional teams Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Familiarity with process improvement, lean principles, or workflow optimization is a plus Interest in AI tools and content standardization Experience working with structured data, templates, or documentation systems Exposure to QMS, lifecycle management, or change control concepts is a plus Legal authorization to work in the United States, now and in the future.
