Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/medtech The Global Planning Leader for Joint Reconstruction will lead the Global Planning function for the various platforms that make up this product category: Hips, Knees, Other Joints Reconstruction. Together, these platforms within DePuy Synthes (DPS) drive annual sales of about $4B in annual sales. The Leader is responsible for driving the Supply Planning Process globally with a strong Customer-First focus, ensuring that customer service objectives are being met while meeting cost and inventory cash flow targets for the platform. The reports into the Vice President of Global Planning for DPS and partners closely with the Vice President of Joints Supply Chain to support the deliver of the End-to-End (E2E) Platform strategy and day-to-day execution of supply chain activities. In order to deliver the objectives of the role, this leader is responsible for building a leading-edge planning capability for the Joints platform, in line with the Supply Chain Planning strategy for DPS. Critical to building these new capabilities will be establishing foundational capabilities in the core planning systems and ERP systems and translating the planning process from a functional focus to an end-to-end value stream focus with an accelerated evolution towards advanced analytics and autonomous planning capabilities. This leader will lead a team of about 70 staff. A key area of accountability will be to ensure that this team reflects the talent and capabilities required to deliver the overall objectives for the function and platform. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The Key Responsibilities of the Global Planning Leader for Joint Reconstruction re as follows: The design, operation and continued improvement of the Global Planning process for Joint Reconstruction. Owning the Global IBP process execution for Joint Reconstruction and ensuring – in partnership with the E2E Platform Leader – that key decisions required from the process are being provided to support the Global Planning process. The detailed execution of the Supply Planning Process so that product is available at the right place, in the right quantities and at the right time to service our customers. This includes the generation of net requirements, distribution requirements planning and STEM. This role is also responsible for global planning network team; responsibilities include all plan related network actions to support platform network optimization. These actions include items like systems and testing, master data, inventory planning and planning parameter optimization. Continual development of the team to meet the demands of a modern supply chain while growing the capabilities of individual members. Owning and monitoring key supply chain plan-related performance metrics including: Service: OTIF-Delivered, Backorder value. Inventory: value and days of inventory, measured at each echelon of the supply chain. Demand Forecast accuracy: Bias and Forecast Error – measured in partnership with the regions to hold them accountable through the S&OP process. Manufacturing Plan Attainment: Volume and Mix MPS Attainment - measured to hold manufacturing sites accountable for delivering their planned output. Excess & Obsolete: value and split between NPI and base business, measured both at the warehouse and field levels in partnership with the regions. NPI launch metrics: On-time launch performance. Team productivity metrics, including $ per SKU planned for the Platform. Team Diversity, Equity and Inclusion metrics. Providing DPS Supply Chain and Commercial leadership with timely reports that inform about service, product availability issues and mitigation actions, and overall planning effectiveness assessment for the platform supply chain. Create and maintain an environment of innovative continuous improvement, focusing on quality, cost reduction, process development and improvement in supply. Lead team; develop goals and objectives; provides regular feedback and development plans Owning and shaping the advanced analytics capability within the team to drive the overall optimization of E2E metrics for the Joint Reconstruction Platforms. Representing Global Planning on the Joints E2E Supply Chain Leadership Team REQUIREMENTS Experience and Education A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management or related discipline is required. An advanced degree in Science, Engineering, Business or equivalent experience is preferred. A minimum fifteen (15) years of experience in a complex Supply Chain environment is expected, along with a proven leadership track record in Supply Chain Planning. The ability to drive process improvements, innovate, prioritize and collaborate in a heavily matrix environment is required. Experience in creating Customer-Centric E2E Supply Chain strategies and delivering Best-in-Class business results through innovative customer-focused solutions is required.
