Job Position Overview: The Associate Director – Project Management delivers new and renovated capital assets for the Global Facilities Delivery (GFD) organization leading and managing teams that deliver large programs of $1BN USD or more in capital assets and/or programs that are highly business critical in nature. This role leads teams of Lilly and non-Lilly professionals from front-end planning (conceptual design) at brownfield or greenfield sites through operational qualification. The role is accountable for delivering asset capability and capacity safely and with assurance of cost, schedule, and quality, in compliance with Company policies and procedures. Responsibilities: Key objectives and deliverables for this role include the following: · Leads and manages teams of Lilly and non-Lilly professionals to safely deliver large programs of $1BN USD or more in capital assets and/or programs that are highly business critical in nature, from front-end planning through operational qualification, achieving defined objectives for asset capability and capacity with safety, cost, schedule, and quality assurance. · Leads with a disciplined, structured approach to project management, anticipating scope changes, facilitating issue resolution, and implementing project work safely and with quality, speed, and value. · Leads from a regional distance from corporate headquarters while developing and maintaining effective communication with GFD leadership, the project team, governance teams, business partners, and other stakeholders. · Develops and maintains safety and environmental execution plans for assigned projects and ensures compliance with safety and environmental policies, procedures, and work rules for project personnel, contractors, and subcontractors from conceptual design through operational verification. · Leads program execution in compliance with Company policies and procedures and applicable regulatory and quality requirements for the facilities and systems delivered. Basic Qualifications: · Bachelor of Science in an engineering field or a field related to project management. · Minimum of 10 years of experience in capital project delivery in industrial or manufacturing facilities. Additional Skills/ Preferences: · Previous experience on a project, or multiple projects, greater than $100MM, including experience managing greenfield projects. · Prior work in pharmaceutical manufacturing, including capital project management for facilities such as bulk API, sterile products, secondary packaging, and devices, and to a lesser extent laboratory projects. · Proficient in one or more of the following areas: GMP manufacturing, LEAN, automation, construction, construction quality, project controls, the engineering disciplines, safety, and scheduling. · Proven ability to achieve results and influence personnel and organizations without direct administrative responsibility for them. · Demonstrated ability to work from long distances with little supervision, exhibiting good judgment in decision making without the need for management approval, while keeping management informed and engaged on critical issues. · Excellent written and verbal communication skills. · Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent technical certification, and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Additional Information: Travel is required and will vary by project. Full relocation to one of the posting locations listed on the requisition is required for the duration of the project. This is an onsite role; onsite presence is required (this is not a remote role).
