The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Manager, Product Group Engineering, Product Lifecycle Management. Location: Raritan, New Jersey; West Chester, Pennsylvania; Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; Raynham, Massachusetts; Warsaw, Indiana. Job Overview This role is responsible for leading Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) capabilities that enable the end to end development, change management, and sustainment of DePuy Synthes products. The Manager, Product Group Engineering partners closely with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to ensure PLM platforms, data, and processes support innovation, compliance, and speed to market. This is a high-impact leadership role at the intersection of engineering, IT, and business strategy, supporting the delivery of safe, compliant, and high-quality medical technologies and reports into the DePuy Synthes Technology organization. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage PLM product group engineering activities supporting R&D and product development across the product lifecycle, from concept through commercialization and post‑market changes. Own PLM platform capabilities, configurations, integrations, and roadmaps to ensure alignment with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Manufacturing needs. Lead the application of AI, advanced analytics, and automation to modernize R&D platforms, accelerating product development, improving scientific and engineering insights, and strengthening end to end decision making while enabling scalable, compliant, and efficient R&D operations from discovery through lifecycle management. Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders to translate business and engineering requirements into scalable PLM solutions and governed processes. Ensure PLM solutions comply with applicable regulatory, quality, and data integrity requirements (e.g., design controls, change management, traceability). Lead and develop a team of engineers and analysts, providing technical direction, coaching, and performance management. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data quality, system usability, and operational efficiency across PLM processes. Manage vendor relationships and system partners, including solution delivery, enhancements, and support models. Support digital transformation initiatives within R&D Technology, including interoperability with adjacent systems (e.g., ERP, MES, QMS). Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field. Master’s degree (MS or MBA) preferred. Experience and Skills Required: 6-8 years of progressive experience in PLM, engineering systems, or R&D IT, including hands‑on experience with enterprise PLM platforms. Strong understanding of product development and lifecycle processes within regulated environments such as medical devices, life sciences, or advanced manufacturing. Experience leading cross‑functional initiatives that balance business priorities, technical constraints, and regulatory requirements. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, including coaching, performance management, and fostering an inclusive, high‑performing culture. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into practical, scalable solutions. Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence without authority at senior levels. Experience managing vendors, system integrators, or external partners in a global environment. Preferred: Experience with medical device design controls, change management, and configuration management within PLM platforms. Exposure to digital transformation initiatives across R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, or Supply Chain. Familiarity with system integrations between PLM and ERP, MES, QMS, or analytics platforms. Prior experience in a matrixed, global organization supporting multiple product franchises. Formal people‑leadership experience in an IT or engineering function. Other: Language: English required. Travel: Up to 10–20%, domestic and occasional international. Certifications: PLM, Agile, or Project Management certifications
