Manager of Maintenance and Engineering The Manager of Maintenance and Engineering is responsible for leading maintenance, reliability, facilities, and plant engineering activities at the Dallas Technology Solutions Site. This role ensures safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of production equipment, utilities, and facility infrastructure while driving continuous improvement, preventive and predictive maintenance programs, capital projects, and cross-functional support for production goals. Key Responsibilities Lead the site maintenance and engineering teams, including maintenance technicians, planners, supervisors, engineers, contractors, and third-party service providers. Develop, implement, and sustain preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability, uptime, safety, and overall equipment effectiveness. Partner with Operations, Quality, Safety, Supply Chain, and other site leaders to align maintenance and engineering priorities with production schedules and business objectives. Oversee troubleshooting and root cause analysis for equipment failures, recurring downtime, process interruptions, and reliability issues. Manage capital projects, equipment upgrades, facility improvements, installation activities, commissioning, and start-up support from planning through execution. Own maintenance planning, scheduling, spare parts strategy, MRO inventory, contractor coordination, and shutdown planning to minimize operational disruption. Maintain compliance with company policies, OSHA requirements, environmental regulations, quality standards, and applicable manufacturing or industry-specific requirements. Manage departmental budgets, labor utilization, maintenance spending, project costs, and vendor performance to achieve cost, safety, and reliability targets. Use CMMS data, maintenance KPIs, downtime trends, and reliability metrics to identify improvement opportunities and track team performance. Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, reliability-centered maintenance, and other structured problem-solving methodologies. Support employee development through coaching, performance management, technical training, succession planning, and a strong culture of accountability and teamwork. Ensure accurate technical documentation, equipment records, standard operating procedures, drawings, manuals, and maintenance work histories are maintained. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in maintenance, engineering, reliability, or technical leadership within a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated experience leading maintenance teams, managing technical personnel, and coordinating work across multiple shifts or production areas. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, controls, utilities, facilities, and production equipment systems used in manufacturing operations. Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs, CMMS systems, maintenance planning, spare parts management, and reliability improvement practices. Proven ability to manage capital projects, contractors, budgets, timelines, equipment installations, and cross-functional stakeholders. Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, environmental compliance, and safe work practices. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, prioritization, and decision-making skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and respond to urgent equipment, facility, or production-related issues as needed. Experience with PLCs, automation systems, instrumentation, robotics, Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, SCADA, or other industrial controls platforms. Strong business acumen, including experience with maintenance budgets, capital planning, cost reduction, equipment lifecycle planning, and project justification. Experience leading culture change, technician skill development, apprenticeship programs, or multi-site maintenance standardization initiatives. Knowledge of reliability engineering tools such as root cause analysis, FMEA, condition monitoring, vibration analysis, thermography, lubrication programs, and reliability-centered maintenance. Experience implementing or improving CMMS platforms, maintenance planning processes, storeroom controls, and maintenance KPI dashboards. Preferred Skills and Experience Experience in high-speed, regulated, food, beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical, consumer goods, or other complex manufacturing environments. Professional certifications such as CMRP, PMP, Lean Six Sigma, TPM, OSHA 30, or related reliability and project management credentials. Ability to influence across departments, communicate with senior leadership, and build strong partnerships with Operations, Quality, Safety, Engineering, and external vendors. Work Environment and Leadership Expectations This position is based at a manufacturing site and requires regular presence on the production floor, in maintenance areas, and around operating equipment. The Manager of Maintenance and Engineering is expected to model safe behavior, lead with urgency and accountability, communicate clearly across all levels of the organization, and build a high-performing team focused on reliability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
