Pay Range: $79,800.00 - $131,100.00 Job Purpose The R&D Lab Manager is responsible for maintaining reagent and material inventories, managing laboratory equipment, and ensuring an organized, safe, and efficient laboratory environment. As a key member of the R&D team, this individual collaborates closely with laboratory personnel and serves as a liaison with internal departments and external vendors to support seamless laboratory operations. Success in this role requires adaptability, initiative, and a willingness to learn new techniques while responding effectively to changing priorities. Responsibilities Manage and maintain laboratory equipment, including routine upkeep, service coordination, troubleshooting, and documentation. Maintain inventories of reagents, consumables, and laboratory supplies. Ensure a clean, safe, and well-organized laboratory environment, including general housekeeping activities. Manage laboratory space and coordinate waste disposal activities. Collaborate with R&D team members to identify, assess, and address laboratory operational needs. Proactively identify operational risks, inefficiencies, and unmet laboratory needs; develop and implement practical solutions and process improvements. Coordinate onboarding and laboratory training for new personnel and ensure adherence to established laboratory procedures and best practices. Partner with R&D leadership, EH&S, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to support efficient and compliant laboratory operations. Execute responsibilities with a high degree of independence, accountability, and sound judgment. Support the Company's Quality System objectives. Qualifications Education: Minimum of B.S. in molecular biology, cell biology, life sciences, or related field. B.S. with 5+ years industry experience, or M.S. with 2+ years of industry experience is preferred. Skills: Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Must be highly collaborative, team oriented and an effective player. Good verbal and written communication skills. Self- starter with the ability to work independently and manage time efficiently. Special attention to detail, resourceful and highly organized. Experience with standard cell and molecular biology techniques and basic statistical analysis Ability to execute projects with minimal supervision, collaborating with project team members to achieve project goals. Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills. Ability to proactively problem-solve. Experience: Experience working within a quality system. Demonstrated ability to overcome obstacles, adapt to evolving priorities, and perform effectively under pressure. Previous experience managing R&D laboratory operations is preferred. Experience documenting experiments within electronic lab notebooks (ELNs), Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), or similar laboratory management tools is preferred. Experience with microscopy, tissue analysis, and data interpretation preferred. Working Conditions: Work is performed in both laboratory and office environments with regular use of computers, microscopes, and standard laboratory equipment. Exposure to biological samples, chemicals, and laboratory reagents may occur; appropriate safety procedures and PPE are provided and required. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a computer, microscope, or laboratory workstation. Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle laboratory equipment, pipettes, and imaging instruments with precision. Visual acuity sufficient to distinguish microscopic details, colors, and digital images for accurate analysis. Ability to occasionally lift and move materials and equipment up to 50 pounds Ability to use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including lab coat, gloves, and safety glasses, as required.
