A Day in the Life This role supports product engineering activities within a medical device manufacturing environment, with a focus on sustaining high-volume production, product performance, and continuous improvement initiatives. The team partners across manufacturing, quality, operations, suppliers, and engineering functions to support device lifecycle management, production optimization, and resolution of technical issues affecting product quality and supply. This position is based in Plainfield, Indiana and requires an onsite work arrangement five (5) days per week. Travel is not anticipated for this role. The Product Engineer I supports commercially released products in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This entry-level engineering role focuses on sustaining engineering activities, production support, product performance monitoring, investigation of technical issues, and implementation of engineering improvements that support quality, reliability, and operational objectives. Primary Responsibilities Support manufacturing operations by investigating and resolving production-related technical issues affecting product performance, quality, and yield. Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends, troubleshoot process challenges, and recommend corrective actions. Support testing methods, procedures, and validation activities to maintain product and process performance. Evaluate customer returns and product-related issues to determine root causes and recommend improvements. Partner with suppliers and cross-functional teams to implement engineering changes and support component-related investigations. Assist with minor product, component, or process design modifications to improve manufacturability, quality, or cost. Support transfer and lifecycle management activities for products and components in high-volume production. Document engineering activities, investigations, and recommendations in accordance with quality system requirements. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering. 0+ years of engineering experience. Preferred Qualifications Internship, co-op, academic project, or laboratory experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action methodologies. Experience analyzing technical and manufacturing data to support process improvement and problem solving. Experience supporting medical device, regulated manufacturing, or other quality-driven industries. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve technical and operational issues. For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
