Together, we’re improving health and improving lives. Labcorp is seeking an On-Site Service Engineer to join our team. Location: Raritan, NJ Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM (3rd Shift). Occasional shift changes, on-call support, weekend, holiday, and after-hours work may be required based on business needs. Training: Initial training will be conducted at Protedyne's Bloomfield, CT facility and other locations for approximately 2 to 3 months. Work Authorization: This position requires permanent authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future. Sponsorship (including H-1B, OPT/CPT, EAD, or other temporary work authorization) is not available. Job Responsibilities Equipment Service & Support Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Propel, Matrix, and Propel Plate Accelerator laboratory automation systems. Perform routine and emergency maintenance activities to maximize equipment performance and uptime. Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and service activities on assigned systems. Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automation-related issues. Installation, Testing & Validation Execute Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of automation equipment at manufacturing facilities. Install laboratory automation equipment at customer sites. Conduct Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) following installation activities. Perform system upgrades, qualifications, validation activities, and testing. Customer Support Provide technical support and issue resolution in a fast-paced customer environment. Respond to service requests and support customers in maintaining operational equipment. Deliver equipment operator training, as needed. Provide recommendations and technical guidance regarding equipment operation and maintenance. Inventory & Administrative Support Maintain assigned service inventory and ensure inventory accuracy. Complete required service documentation, including customer feedback reports, time reports, inventory reports, equipment checklists, and maintenance records. Maintain accurate service and maintenance documentation. Continuous Improvement Maintain proficiency on assigned equipment through ongoing training and professional development. Support additional projects and assignments as required. Minimum Qualifications Associate degree in Engineering, Electronics, Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Technology, Electrical Technology, or another technical discipline with 3 or more years of field service experience supporting complex automation systems 3 or more years of field service experience supporting complex automation systems. Ability to lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds or more on a regular basis. Additional Job Standards Technical Knowledge Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Knowledge of troubleshooting and diagnostic methodologies. Experience using diagnostic tools and instrumentation such as digital voltmeters (DVMs), oscilloscopes, and micrometers. Experience supporting medical, laboratory, or healthcare automation systems. Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and automation systems. Customer Service & Communication Strong customer service and relationship-management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to instruct customers on equipment operation and maintenance. Ability to accurately assess customer-reported issues and communicate effective solutions. Problem Solving Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Ability to diagnose complex equipment and system issues. Ability to prioritize service needs and develop effective solutions to maintain system availability. Ability to exercise sound judgment in field-service environments. Professional Effectiveness Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to take ownership of on-site service responsibilities. Ability to maintain professionalism in demanding customer environments. Demonstrated adaptability and commitment to continuous learning. About the Role The On-Site Service Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, qualification, validation, and support of complex laboratory automation systems. This role serves as a primary technical resource for customers by ensuring equipment reliability, performing preventive maintenance, supporting upgrades and validation activities, and resolving system issues. The position requires strong technical expertise, customer focus, and the ability to work independently while supporting critical laboratory automation operations.
