At Kiniksa, talented individuals are trusted and empowered to make a real impact—shaping the future of medicine while improving the lives of patients who need it most.Reporting to the Medical Director, Global Medical Affairs, the Manager, Medical Review and Communications will support Global Medical Affairs in medical review of promotional/medical deliverables, development of medical communication resources (e.g., slide decks, dossiers, response letters), additional medical affairs initiatives including speaker training and medical certifications of sales training. Working closely with the medical director, h/she will ensure all deliverables remain aligned with Kiniksa strategy and tactics.
This role is based in our Lexington, MA office and requires employees to be onsite five days per week.
Responsibilities (including, but not limited to): Provide timely and thorough medical review for both promotional and medical pieces, with focus on assuring medical accuracy and appropriate references across all pieces
Collaborate with Medical Director and Executive Director of Field Medical Affairs to implement medical communication plans, which align with Global Medical Affairs needs
Support content development of medical communication deliverables such as core slide decks, symposium decks, disease state education materials, and internal slide decks for cross-functional education
Review and amend work in response to internal and external feedback
Provide ongoing updates and maintenance to all medical affairs resources, assuring resources incorporate the most up-to-date data
Support planning and execution of advisory boards and/or external HCP engagement activities
Assist with certification initiatives for sales team, as needed
Support the development and maintenance of scientific communication platforms, assuring alignment with scientific lexicon
Ensure all content is scientifically and clinically sound and well-organized while maintaining consistency in terminology, tone, and document structure as it relates to Kiniksa’s ideology Standout Skills for Impact: Effectively and efficiently reviews complex medical information, with strong attention to detail, and has ability simplify information into clear and concise deliverables, as needed
Works effectively with cross-functional teams (e.g., commercial, compliance, legal, regulatory) to effectively inform on the most up-to-date medical and scientific information Qualifications and Experience: Advanced scientific degree (PhD, PharmD, MD) strongly preferred or relevant advanced science degree (MS, MPH, or other scientific or clinical degrees also considered)
A minimum of 2+ years of medical affairs experience in the bio/pharmaceutical industry or related experience (e.g., scientific/medical communications agency) is required
Ability to explain complex scientific and clinical concepts clearly for various audiences, both verbally as well as through written deliverables such as slide decks or response letters
Strong attention to detail when conducting medical review
Analytical, solutions-oriented, negotiation and strategic-thinking skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of flexibility
Ability to effectively facilitate meetings and manage cross-functional teams
Ability to work with minimal supervision and function effectively as a team member; a self-starter
Project management experience (timelines, planning, workflows, creation of reports, archiving)
Must exhibit characteristics that exemplify drive, passion and focus that will translate into significant contributions towards building a global generational company
Must show the ability to multi-task and change course quickly
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft CoPilot
Some travel may be required
