Senior Accountant

Work Flexibility: Hybrid Join Stryker’s Finance team in a senior accounting role supporting accurate financial reporting and general accounting processes within an international environment. You will provide technical accounting expertise, review key accounting activities, support month-end close, coordinate deliverables, and help maintain compliance with accounting policies and internal controls. What you will do Serve as a subject matter expert for general accounting processes, providing guidance to team members and supporting accounting-related queries. Perform and review complex accounting activities, including month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed assets, cash accounting, financial reporting, and financial statement analysis. Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations for assigned entities, ensuring appropriate supporting documentation and accuracy. Coordinate month-end closing activities and other key accounting deliverables in collaboration with the Supervisor or Lead Analyst. Execute assigned Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and support internal and external audit requirements while ensuring compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Partner with local accounting teams and markets to investigate and resolve discrepancies, accounting issues, and queries, escalating matters when required. Support the migration of accounting processes across countries in scope and create and maintain related process and procedure documentation. Train new and existing team members and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency. What you will need Required Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in finance or general accounting. Experience with journal entry processing, account reconciliations, financial reporting and analysis, fixed assets, or related general accounting activities. English proficiency at B2 level. Intermediate Microsoft Excel proficiency, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, macros, charts, and formulas. Preferred Experience working in a shared services environment or within a large, global, or multinational organization. Working knowledge of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
