The Manager, CAR T Warehouse Operations leads a team of material handlers responsible for all processes associated with material receipts, inventory, movement, storage and distribution within CAR T clinical and commercial operations. This position plays a critical role in the CAR T warehousing processes ensuring appropriate controls, complete traceability, and efficient operations. The Manger leads different operations across multiple warehouse locations and multiple shifts. The position assures individual compliance with all FDA, DEA, DOT, ISBT, CTPAT, OSHA, VAWD, cGMPs and applicable policies, regulations and certifications including training, documentation, standard operating procedures, and corporate policies. Shift Available: Quad 2: Sunday - Wednesday, Onsite Evening Shift, 4 p.m.-2:30 a.m. Responsibilities : Operating within the requirements of a validated warehouse management system, supervise daily operational activities associated with inbound movement / receipt and storage of materials through the CAR T supply chain network. Maintain shipping, receiving, staging and storage areas that are compliant, efficient, effective and safe. Engage in various groups to manage and expedite receipt along with ensuring appropriate sampling / inspection of incoming materials. Manage the creation, implementation and compliance for all documentation, procedures and policies. Identify strategic and operational issues both internally and externally, develop proposals, outline solutions, and provide time commitments and resources. Lead and manage the development of corrective and preventative actions, deviation responses and investigations for warehouse operations. Manage 6 – 19 direct reports on daily basis including all training, performance appraisals, 1:1 discussions, and personnel development. Manage implementation and maintenance of appropriate training curricula. Build a collaborative environment that fosters decisive decision making and accountability. Fosters a culture of high ethics and compliance. Create an environment of teamwork, open communication, and a sense of urgency. Provide a safe and healthy work environment for staff within areas and ensure compliance with all appropriate policies and regulations. Promote and engage team in safety training program. Efficiently coordinates, communicates, and provides essential Warehouse Operations project information and activities status to Development, Planning, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance / Operations, Global Supply and other associated functions in a timely manner in accordance with schedules and defined implementation timelines. Build trust and productive relationships with peers and stakeholders. Drive collaboration across the company and external partners. Interface with Cost Accounting and Internal Audits to coordinate, manage and perform regular physical inventory counts as scheduled. Lead multi-functional and multi-location teams through project identification and implementation for both short and long-term projects. Identify strategic and operational issues both internally and externally, develop proposals, outline solutions, and provide time commitments and resources. Act as a change agent in a fast-paced environment to promote flexibility, creativity, and accountability. Deliver business results through timely and quality decision making. Develop business continuity plans to ensure sustainable operations. Knowledge & Skills: Advanced knowledge warehouse operations including best industry practices, application of principles, concepts, practices, standards, validation and qualification. Advanced knowledge of cGMP/GDP/Pharmaceutical regulations. Advanced knowledge of OSHA, DEA, USP and other applicable WH regulations. Advanced proficiency in ERP systems / WMS Applications and analytics tools. Advanced proficiency in system and application use for business operations. Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications. Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Advance project management experience handling multiple projects simultaneously. Advanced organizational and time management skills. Intermediate written and verbal communication skills. Intermediate presentation development and delivery skills. Ability to adapt to changing business conditions while maintaining appropriate level of controls and compliance with regulatory requirements. Ability to travel 5% - 10% of time. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, life sciences, information systems, business management or related fields. An equivalent combination of education, experience and training may substitute. 5-7 years of experience in warehousing, manufacturing and supply chain areas within cGMP environment. 3 years direct supervisor/personnel management experience. Strong understanding of cell culture, purification, and aseptic processing or lab technique. Working Conditions: Intermittent walking and sitting to perform job functions; ability to sit or stand for extended periods as needed. Physical dexterity sufficient to use computers and documentation. Sufficient vision and hearing to work safely in the job environment. Ability to lift up to 60 lbs at knee/waist height and 30 lbs to shoulder height using proper body mechanics; push/pull up to 60 lbs. Ability to perform repetitive tasks, including prolonged standing, bending, reaching, and use of step stools. Must have the ability to work in laboratories and cleanroom environments that are enclosed, controlled, and restricted spaces with assigned pressure and temperature conditions. Cleanroom and laboratory work may include exposure to reagents, chemicals, sanitization agents, and routine exposure to human blood components. Work may include exposure to reagents, chemical disinfectants, sanitization agents, flammable and hazardous materials, routine exposure to human blood components, dry ice, frozen materials, ultra-low freezers (-80°C), and cold-room environments (2–8°C). Ability to independently don, doff, and wear required cleanroom garments and PPE in designated areas, including, but not limited to, garments covering the head, face, core body, and legs/feet such as sterile scrubs, gloves, safety shoes, safety glasses, and cut-resistant gloves as applicable.
