Salary Range: €45,300.00 - €84,100.00 Job Description Summary Location: Torre Annunziata (NA), Italy #LI-Hybrid 12 days/month in office This role is based in Torre Annunziata (NA), Italy. The Robotics Expert (Super SME) owns the end-to-end robotics technology strategy for shared Work Centers across manufacturing site. The role bridges emerging robotics technologies with site needs — moving solutions from market scan to shop floor — by combining deep technical expertise with close proximity to the vendor and innovation ecosystem Job Description Major Accountabilities Drive Site Robotics Strategy & Innovation Identify, assess, and prioritize robotics opportunities across manufacturing, laboratories, warehousing, and support functions, aligning initiatives with site and enterprise digital transformation goals. Lead Robotics Solution Deployment Manage robotics projects from concept, proof-of-concept, and pilot phases through full-scale implementation, ensuring successful adoption and operational sustainability. Serve as Site Robotics Subject Matter Expert Provide expert guidance to Site ITOT leaders, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams on robotics technologies, solution architecture, and implementation best practices. Evaluate Emerging Robotics Technologies Assess and recommend innovative technologies including collaborative robots (cobots), autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), machine vision, AI-enabled robotics, and automated inspection solutions. Establish Robotics Standards & Compliance Ensure robotics solutions adhere to Novartis cybersecurity, validation, quality, regulatory, and OT governance requirements while promoting platform standardization and reuse. Build Cross-Functional & External Partnerships Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Digital, Operational Excellence teams, vendors, system integrators, and global ITOT communities to accelerate robotics adoption. Drive Business Value Realization Develop business cases, support investment decisions, monitor project benefits, and deliver measurable improvements in productivity, quality, safety, ergonomics, and operational efficiency. Manage Robotics Portfolio & Roadmap Maintain a sustainable pipeline of robotics initiatives, support roadmap planning, prioritize opportunities, and ensure alignment with enterprise automation and intelligent manufacturing strategies. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Automation, Mechatronics, Engineering. 6+ years of experience in robotics, industrial automation, manufacturing technology, IT/OT, engineering, or smart manufacturing environments. Proven experience delivering robotics or automation projects from evaluation and pilot phases through implementation and operational support. Strong knowledge of industrial automation systems, manufacturing processes, and Industry 4.0 technologies , including robotics integration within operational environments. Experience working in cross-functional stakeholder environments , collaborating with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Digital teams. Hands-on knowledge of robotics technologies such as AMRs, AGVs, cobots, machine vision systems, automated inspection, and intelligent automation platforms. Understanding of regulated manufacturing requirements , including GxP, validation, data integrity, and OT cybersecurity principles. Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills with the ability to influence stakeholders, build business cases, and drive technology adoption across complex organizations.
