A Day in the Life Cardiac Ablation Solutions develops technologies and therapies used to diagnose and treat cardiac arrhythmias. This team partners across systems engineering, product development, field engineering, technical services, marketing, and clinical stakeholders to ensure successful integration of electrophysiology systems within hospital environments and to support product performance throughout the product lifecycle. This position may be based in Mounds View, Minnesota or Newton, Massachusetts and follows an onsite work model with a minimum of four days per week in the office. As a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer, you will provide technical leadership for system integration and refine your systems engineering skills to conduct interface testing, both within the system and during commercial support, as well as integrating the system into Electrophysiology cath lab hospital environments. Primary Responsibilities Participate on cross-functional development teams in the creation of integration, characterization, and troubleshooting testing, training, and guidance documents. Develop expertise in the application of systems engineering principles and identify opportunities for applying systems engineering within work assigned to the team. Support marketing, field engineering, technical services, and training and education in technical questions. Propose and implement changes to improve systems and/or processes. Travel Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience OR Master’s with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience OR PhD with 6 years of relevant experience Advanced Systems Engineering experience defining systems architecture Medical device experience Preferred Qualifications Advanced understanding of Electrophysiology and comfort in the hospital environment Experience with the application of Design Controls for medical devices Demonstrated ability to create strategies and influence cross-functionally #LI-MDT For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required. PR) locations (USD):$164,000.00 - $246,000.00 This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
