Job Description About the Role: As a Maintenance Technician I at Takeda, you’ll help maintain the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of manufacturing, utility, and facility systems that support pharmaceutical production at our Social Circle, Georgia site. You’ll perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and support equipment reliability in a highly regulated manufacturing environment. You’ll work closely with Maintenance, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and other site teams to restore equipment, support production, and ensure maintenance activities are completed safely and in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and applicable regulatory requirements. This is a hands-on maintenance opportunity for someone with industrial or mechanical maintenance experience who enjoys troubleshooting equipment, solving problems, and taking ownership of reliable equipment operation. Shift Details: NIGHTS --- 6:00 PM–6:30 AM on a 2-2-3 Rotating Schedule. The role may require occasional flexibility to support other shifts based on business and staffing needs. How You Will Contribute: Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing, utility, and facility equipment. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical systems and equipment, including HVAC systems, boilers, compressors, pumps, piping, plumbing, distillation equipment, and other facility systems. Support the reliable operation of manufacturing and utility systems, identifying equipment conditions that could affect safety, quality, or production. Apply troubleshooting techniques and available equipment data to help identify root causes and determine appropriate corrective actions. Read and interpret equipment schematics, blueprints, utility drawings, and P&IDs to support troubleshooting and maintenance activities. Maintain and repair equipment such as vessels, mixers, valves, pumps, chillers, cooling towers, water systems, and related manufacturing and utility equipment. Support maintenance activities involving systems such as WFI, clean steam, purified water, water distribution, emergency power, UPS, and wastewater treatment systems. Complete maintenance activities in accordance with cGMPs, SOPs, approved job plans, safety procedures, and company policies. Accurately document maintenance activities, work orders, equipment conditions, and operational information within applicable systems. Maintain awareness of spare parts requirements and assist with maintaining an accurate inventory of parts needed to support assigned equipment. Support equipment start-up activities and help verify that equipment meets applicable mechanical and operational specifications. Develop working knowledge of maintenance technologies such as alignment, balancing, thermography, oil analysis, ultrasound, and vibration monitoring to support equipment reliability. Use applicable CMMS and maintenance systems to document work and support maintenance activities. Experience with SAP, JDE, or Maximo is a plus. Use basic Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills to support shift reporting, communication, and maintenance activities. Follow established safety requirements, including applicable Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) practices and environmental, health, and safety requirements. Participate in required training, meetings, shutdown activities, and continuous improvement initiatives. Work collaboratively with Maintenance, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and other site functions to resolve equipment issues and support production goals. Take ownership of assigned maintenance activities, communicate issues effectively, and escalate conditions requiring additional technical or functional support. What You Bring to Takeda: A High School Diploma or GED is required. A minimum of two years of mechanical, industrial, utilities, manufacturing maintenance, or related technical experience is required. Experience troubleshooting and maintaining mechanical equipment and systems is required. Experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food, chemical, industrial, manufacturing, or other regulated environment is preferred but not required. Knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting principles is required. Understanding of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and safe work practices is preferred. Knowledge of applicable OSHA, EPA, and other environmental, health, and safety requirements is preferred. The ability to read and understand schematics, blueprints, P&IDs, and technical documentation is preferred. Experience troubleshooting equipment using available data to identify potential causes and appropriate corrective actions is preferred. Experience with CMMS/work order systems is preferred but not required. Experience with SAP, JDE, or Maximo is a plus. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook is preferred. Electrical maintenance experience is a plus, including exposure to 480V motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), motor control centers (MCCs), transformers, switchgear, and PLC controls. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. The ability to work effectively with peers and cross-functional teams is required. Demonstrated dependability, accountability, ownership, and commitment to safe work practices is important for success in this role. The ability to work independently, prioritize maintenance activities, and appropriately escalate issues is required. The ability to work a night shift and provide reasonable flexibility to support other shifts when operational needs arise is required. Important Considerations: At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we follow strict requirements in our manufacturing facilities to protect product quality, employee safety, and regulatory compliance. In this role, you may: Work a 12-hour night shift, generally from approximately 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, with shift flexibility as needed to support business operations. Work weekends and holidays as required by the manufacturing operation. Work additional hours or overtime, particularly during shutdowns, lockdowns, or other operational needs. Work around moving equipment and machinery and in areas where appropriate PPE is required. Work in environments that may include heat, cold, wet conditions, dust, gases, fumes, or other manufacturing-related exposures. Work around chemicals, including alcohols, acids, buffers, and other process-related materials, in accordance with established safety procedures and PPE requirements.
