The Position We are seeking a senior, experienced and qualified finance professional who has a proven track record in complex IFRS accounting matters in a global setting as preparer. The position is based at Corporate Head Office in Basel, Switzerland, within Group Accounting and External Reporting. On-site working is a pre-requisite. The Opportunity Dedicated senior resource on IFRS accounting and related impact assessments in complex cross-functional setup on transactions or projects related to mergers & acquisitions, alliances, partnering, financing, tax accounting, divestments and group-wide system implementation. Additionally, support the team to resolve complex technical accounting matters in alignment with IFRS and the Roche Group accounting manual Preparer role for the year-end and half-year external IFRS consolidated financial statements Lead and manage technical accounting operations for monthly closing and external reporting events Translate IFRS and other reporting standards into detailed, operational reporting specifications and update the Group accounting manual as necessary Facilitate internal financial training events at Roche together with other members of the team / network, as well as updating related training materials Ensure an effective internal control system Identify and implement process improvements on a timely basis Who you are You are someone who wants to influence your own development. You also bring the following skills and experience: Qualified accountant with either a degree in finance and accounting or a professional accounting qualification, as well as a minimum of 10 years of practical working experience in IFRS external reporting for a large global organization Proven experience in complex technical IFRS knowledge, particularly in mergers and acquisitions, alliances, partnering, divestment and revenue recognition, and the ability to communicate this to non-accounting colleagues A demonstrated ability to navigate and liaise effectively across networks with stakeholders at different levels in a large organization to conclude on complex technical matters with a high level of reliability, precision and practical application Lead projects and teams with excellent project management skills, attention to detail, strong analytical skills and a mindset geared for problem solving on an end-to-end basis Able to work to tight deadlines and to deliver under time pressure Proven ability to self-learn and self-adapt to changing circumstances in a collaborative and positive way of working Solid collaboration and communication skills, using fluent spoken and written business English to engage, motivate and drive positive outcomes Knowledge of Swiss accounting rules and German language would be beneficial (but not essential) Ready for the next step?
