Together, we’re improving health and improving lives. Labcorp is seeking a Vice President, Data & AI Readiness Platforms to join our team in Durham, NC. Work Schedule: Durham, NC / Hybrid | Full-time | Reports to: Senior Vice President of Platforms, AI & High Velocity Engineering | Travel: 40-50% Job Responsibilities: Establish and execute Labcorp’s enterprise Data and AI strategy, defining the vision, roadmap, governance, and operating model to transform clinical, scientific, operational, and financial data into strategic assets that enable analytics, AI, digital innovation, and enterprise growth. Lead the development of a unified, AI-ready data ecosystem, advancing enterprise data platforms, interoperability, analytics, cloud modernization, and reusable capabilities that provide trusted, scalable, and governed access to data across Labcorp and the broader healthcare ecosystem. Drive enterprise analytics, decision intelligence, and data product transformation, enabling advanced insights, population health, research, real-world evidence, and value-based care capabilities that improve business performance, healthcare outcomes, and customer value. Establish enterprise data governance, security, resilience, and responsible AI standards, ensuring data quality, privacy, regulatory compliance, explainability, risk management, and trust across data, analytics, and AI platforms, including alignment with HIPAA, GDPR, and other applicable requirements. Embed responsible AI and zero-trust governance practices, including auditable data lineage, policy enforcement, privacy-by-design, clinical risk controls, explainability, and ongoing model and data monitoring. Lead platform engineering excellence and technology value realization, overseeing cloud, data, network, and platform capabilities while improving reliability, automation, engineering productivity, FinOps discipline, and measurable value from technology investments. Accelerate engineering velocity and AI readiness, enabling AI-assisted development, inner-source practices, platform automation, reusable services, and fit-for-purpose Agile and product operating models that improve developer productivity, deployment frequency, quality, and time to value. Serve as a strategic enterprise technology leader, partnering with executive stakeholders to align business and technology priorities, build strategic partnerships, influence healthcare and life sciences innovation, and deliver transformational outcomes that strengthen Labcorp’s competitive position Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree 15 or more years of progressive leadership experience in data, analytics, cloud, technology, platform engineering, or digital transformation roles, including significant experience leading large-scale enterprise organizations. 10 or more years of experience leading people and multidisciplinary teams, with accountability for strategy, execution, operational performance, talent development, and budget management. 10 or more years of experience defining and executing enterprise data, analytics, AI, and technology transformation strategies within highly regulated organizations. 10 or more years of experience leading enterprise-scale technology modernization initiatives, including cloud platforms, data ecosystems, analytics, interoperability, AI/ML capabilities, and mission-critical technology services. 10 or more years of experience partnering with executive and C-suite leadership to align technology investments with business priorities, lead organizational change, manage risk, and deliver measurable business outcomes. 10 or more years of experience with data governance, privacy, security, regulatory compliance, and responsible AI practices, including experience operating within HIPAA and other regulated environments. Preferred Qualifications MBA, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration. 10 or more years of experience in healthcare, diagnostics, life sciences, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated industries. 10 or more years of experience leading transformation across complex, global, and highly matrixed organizations. 10 or more years of experience advancing enterprise data products, emerging AI technologies, and AI-enabled business transformation. 10 or more years of experience establishing strategic partnerships across technology, data, AI, and business ecosystems. Additional Job Standards Demonstrated expertise in enterprise data, analytics, AI, cloud, and platform engineering, with the ability to translate strategy into scalable technology capabilities and measurable business outcomes. Deep knowledge of healthcare and life sciences data ecosystems, including interoperability, analytics modernization, and AI-ready data capabilities supporting clinical, operational, research, and business needs. Strong expertise in enterprise architecture and platform modernization, including cloud-native, distributed, scalable data, integration, analytics, and real-time processing platforms. Advanced knowledge of data governance, privacy, cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, and responsible AI, with experience establishing trusted and compliant data and AI practices in regulated environments. Proven ability to drive operational and engineering excellence, including reliability, automation, observability, FinOps, cost optimization, and engineering productivity. Strong business and financial acumen, with the ability to optimize technology investments, manage resources effectively, and demonstrate measurable business value. Exceptional executive presence and influencing skills, with the ability to align senior stakeholders, lead enterprise transformation, and drive decision-making across complex organizations. Proven organizational leadership and talent development capabilities, with experience building, developing, and leading high-performing, multidisciplinary teams.
