Packaging Mechanics

Open Scientific provides contract staffing and direct hire recruitment services for the scientific, engineering, laboratory and manufacturing sectors. We are currently looking for experienced Packaging Mechanics to join a fast growing organization in Hauppauge. Qualified candidates for this role are detailed oriented, results driven, and team oriented. This is a direct hire opportunity starting at $20-28 an hour Mon-Fri with mandatory OT Comprehensive benefits package Responsibilities include: Troubleshoots, assesses and repairs most manufacturing/facilities issues in a timely manner without supervision Interprets blueprints and schematics Basic to advance knowledge of electrical circuits and PLCs Complies with company policies and procedures and maintains regular work attendance Personal responsibility for following safety rules, SOPs and cGMPs guidelines Ability to build and rebuild certain components for machines (i.e. bearings, pumps, etc.) Skills: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required Experience working in and around mechanical equipment, preferably in a food/pharmaceutical environment Knowledge in blisters, tableting, compounding, and/or blending a plus 3-5 years of experience in Manufacturing environment All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
