This is a hybrid role with a location of New Brunswick, New Jersey. The Global Intranet Senior Manager is the enterprise employee communications lead for Home, Johnson & Johnson’s global intranet. The role translates enterprise, sector and function employee communication priorities into a clear content model, information architecture, taxonomy, and governance framework that supports a relevant, consistent, and discoverable employee experience. Working in partnership with the home product and platform team, the enterprise digital employee communications lead, and sector and functional communicators, this individual establishes standards, aligns stakeholders, and represents communications requirements as the channel evolves. The role enables teams to address distinct business and audience needs while providing limited editorial coordination or publishing support during priority enterprise moments and other defined needs. Key Responsibilities Strategy, Governance and Employee Experience Translate enterprise employee communications priorities into Home’s information architecture, taxonomy, content model, and audience experience. Co-create and steward governance, including standards for content quality, tagging, targeting, accessibility, findability, archiving, roles, and decision rights. Set criteria for home sections, priority placements, targeted experiences, and channel fit without owning sector or functional day-to-day publishing decisions. Lead governance reviews and content audits to strengthen accuracy, consistency, relevance, and accountability. Sector, Function and Platform Partnerships Partner with sector and enterprise functional communicators to understand priorities and audience needs and apply shared standards to Home experiences. Coordinate with the enterprise digital employee communications lead to clarify Home’s role within the broader channel ecosystem and identify overlaps and opportunities. Represent employee communications requirements to the Home product and platform team and help prioritize improvements based on strategy, employee needs, and publisher feedback. Influence Communications, Technology, HR, and business stakeholders in a global matrix without direct ownership. Quality, Adoption and Editorial Support Develop practical guidance, templates, training, and forums that help communicators, authors and publishers apply Home standards. Support adoption of platform, feature and governance changes and address systemic content-quality or publishing challenges. Provide editorial-calendar coordination, publishing guidance or hands-on support for priority enterprise moments, major initiatives, urgent needs, or agreed coverage gaps. Measurement and Continuous Improvement Define and monitor content and platform performance metrics, including engagement, search, findability, adoption, and content quality, to identify opportunities and assess impact. Translate data, employee feedback and publisher insights into recommendations that influence content priorities, platform enhancements, governance and the overall Home experience. Qualifications & Capabilities Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of experience in employee or corporate communications, including work with an enterprise or global intranet. Demonstrated expertise in employee communications strategy, content governance, information architecture, taxonomy, audience experience, and digital publishing. Experience developing and implementing governance frameworks, standards, decision criteria, and content-owner accountabilities. Strong editorial judgment and the ability to translate business priorities into practical channel standards and audience-centered experiences. Experience using intranet analytics, employee feedback, and search insights to improve content effectiveness and findability. Proven ability to influence business decisions and align stakeholders, project teams and external partners across Communications, Technology, HR, and business functions in a global matrix. Strong project-management skills, with experience delivering multiple projects on time and within budget and working knowledge of enterprise content-management and publishing platforms; experience with Unily, SharePoint, Viva or a comparable platform is preferred. Experience in a large, global, or regulated organization and familiarity with emerging AI-enabled communication, measurement, search, and publishing solutions are preferred.
