R&D Manager, Productivity and Solutions Division

Job Description Agilent supports scientists in 110 countries in cutting-edge life science research; patient diagnostics; and testing required to ensure the safety of water, food and pharmaceuticals. Our advanced instruments, software, consumables, and services enable our customers to produce the most accurate and reliable results as well as optimal scientific, economic, and operational outcomes. As a member of the Productivity and Solutions Division, you will contribute directly to the delivery of software solutions to support our Raman Spectroscopy instrument product line. Working from the Laser Spectroscopy Center of Excellence (LSCE) in Oxford (Harwell) UK, you will be managing a team of dedicated software engineers as we deliver our software roadmap and support our best-in-class vibrational (IR and Raman) spectroscopy instruments. Key responsibilities: Lead the development and implementation of the next-generation Raman software products. Responsible for the overall operations in the assigned R&D area of responsibility, including adherence to a well-defined software product lifecycle and alignment with broader strategic initiatives. Actively work to solve engineering and research challenges and lead investigations through to resolution. Work closely with internal and external development partners around the globe to integrate hardware and software solutions. Develop and mentor software team members, driving a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and the delivery of trusted answers. Qualifications Technical experience: Demonstrated experience in leading technical teams as a project or people manager. Experience in design and development of commercial software products on Microsoft or Linux platforms with modern architecture technologies such as containerization, Kubernetes, microservices, messaging systems, or web technologies. Strong software engineering and development experience including software development, issue management, DevSecOps, continuous integration, or cloud deployment. Experience with software development for 21 CFR Part 11-compliant or regulated environments would be advantageous. Soft skills: Proven leadership, strong communication and interpersonal skills. Additional Details This job has a full time weekly schedule. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
