The Manager, Logistics Center of Expertise (CoE) is responsible for leading the Logistics CoE organization supporting warehousing, weigh & dispense, materials management, distribution, logistics quality, equipment ownership, and EHS excellence. The role drives operational excellence, process standardization, business performance, compliance, talent development, and continuous improvement across logistics operations. The Manager CoE Logistics serves as a strategic and operational leader, ensuring the organization delivers safe, compliant, efficient, and reliable material flow and distribution processes while developing future-ready capabilities through innovation, automation, digitalization, and data-driven decision-making. We offer an initial 12-month contract with the intention to convert to a permanent contract. This position is based across both Schiphol and Leiden, and regular presence at both sites is expected. Key Responsibilities Leadership & People Development Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary team consisting of Logistics Process Engineers, Material Management Specialists, Quality Specialists, Equipment Specialists, and EHS professionals. Create an empowered culture built on accountability, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Establish clear priorities, goals, and performance expectations aligned with business strategy. Develop talent pipelines, succession plans, capability-building programs, and organizational development initiatives. Foster employee engagement and a high-performing team culture consistent with Johnson & Johnson Credo values and Leadership Imperatives. Operational Excellence Own the Logistics CoE strategy and execution roadmap. Establish and sustain process ownership for warehouse, distribution, inventory, material flow, weigh & dispense, and supporting logistics systems. Define standards, governance, KPIs, operational controls, and performance management processes. Drive continuous improvement programs using Lean, Six Sigma, operational excellence, and problem-solving methodologies. Ensure visibility and management of performance metrics through operational reviews and business dashboards. Lead identification and elimination of process gaps, inefficiencies, and waste. Quality, Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with GMP, GDP, EHS, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards. Partner with Quality and Operations to maintain inspection readiness and audit preparedness. Lead risk assessments and support effective management of deviations, CAPAs, change controls, and investigations. Ensure robust process documentation, standards, training, and governance are maintained. Escalate and manage operational, quality, safety, and compliance risks appropriately. Strategic Projects & Innovation Lead implementation of logistics transformation initiatives, automation solutions, digital capabilities, and business process improvements. Partner with global and regional stakeholders on network strategies, technology transfers, capacity improvements, and supply chain optimization projects. Champion data-driven decision-making and advanced analytics to improve performance and business outcomes. Drive adoption of emerging technologies and future-state logistics capabilities. Stakeholder Management Build effective partnerships with Operations, Supply Chain, Planning, Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing Science, Procurement, and global functions. Serve as the logistics subject matter leader for key decision-making forums. Communicate priorities, risks, opportunities, and performance updates to senior leadership. Influence strategic decisions through data, business insights, and operational expertise. Core Accountabilities The successful candidate will be accountable for: Safety performance. Qualifications Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Life Sciences, Business, Operations Management, or related discipline. APICS certification Preferred: Master's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. Experience Required: Minimum 5-8 years of progressive experience in logistics, warehousing, supply chain, manufacturing, operations, or pharmaceutical environments. Minimum 5 years leading teams and/or complex cross-functional programs. Experience with GMP / GDP regulated environments. Experience driving operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives. Proven success managing complex stakeholder environments and organizational change. Preferred: Pharmace
