LP2 MES Technical Lead & Systems Architect — Lebanon, Indiana Lilly is building a new gene therapy manufacturing site (LP2) in Lebanon, Indiana. This role owns the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) end-to-end — from the Tulip application layer and Tulip Table data model, through MuleSoft integrations connecting SAP, QbDVision , and LabVantage , to the MQTT-based Unified Namespace driving real-time equipment communication. You will serve as both the technical authority over the platform’s architecture and the hands-on engineer responsible for its ongoing design, build, and validation. Key Responsibilities Serve as Technical Lead/SME for LP2 MES architecture, design standards, and technical direction Design, build, and validate Tulip applications for GxP manufacturing workflows and electronic batch records Direct automation integrations with Automation Engineering (equipment commands, confirmations, process value subscriptions) Author/approve design specs ensuring compliance with ALCOA&#43; and 21 CFR Part 11 Guide components through validated migration lifecycle (DEV → QA → Production) Participate in Change Control Board (CCB) and ServiceNow change management Partner with Manufacturing Operations, Automation Engineering, and Quality (BQA/CSQA) Mentor MES engineers; act as escalation point for complex issues Collaborate with MES Product Owner on ALM requirements/backlog Report system status and technical risk to site/IT leadership Basic Requirements Bachelor's degree in IT, Software /Computer Engineering or related field 5&#43; years with MES or pharma manufacturing IT platforms, including system integration (middleware/ERP/PLM) and Computer System Validation (CSV) in GMP settings Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Additional Skills /Preferences Modern software architecture and integration patterns MuleSoft/ Anypoint , DataWeave for MES–ERP(SAP)–PLM integrations MQTT, Unified Namespace (UNS), OPC UA knowledge CSV experience: Validation/Test Plans, IQ/OQ/UAT, design specs under 21 CFR Part 11/ALCOA&#43; Understanding of eBRs , non-terminal record controls, e-signatures Git/GitHub, GitHub Actions, MUnit, ALM/Jira Familiarity with MABL and ServiceNow Strong cross-functional communication and problem-solving skills Additional Information: Position Location: Lebanon, Indiana, with potential travel to other U.S. and global Lilly sites as required . Travel Percentage (%): Shift Information: Role is Monday through Friday and based on-site.
