Associate Director, OT Cybersecurity Officer Job Description Summary The OT Cybersecurity Officer protects the cybersecurity and operational resilience of BD’s global manufacturing and distribution technology environments. This leader owns OT cybersecurity strategy, risk management, architecture, standards, assurance, and executive visibility into material OT cyber risk. Working across Manufacturing, Plant Engineering, ISC, TDS, Digital, R&D, Quality, and Regulatory, the role sets OT security requirements, prioritizes risk reduction, and enables secure operations while balancing cybersecurity, safety, quality, product supply, and manufacturing uptime. Key Responsibilities OT Cybersecurity Strategy, Risk & Governance Own BD’s global OT cybersecurity strategy, roadmap, target-state architecture, policies, standards, risk thresholds, and governance model. Lead cross-functional governance across Cybersecurity, ISC, Plant Engineering, TDS, Digital, R&D, Quality, and Regulatory to drive consistent adoption of OT cybersecurity requirements. Own the enterprise OT cyber risk and vulnerability management framework, including prioritization, remediation governance, exceptions, and risk acceptance. Translate OT cyber risk into business, operational resilience, patient/product supply, manufacturing impact, and executive-level decisions. OT Security Architecture, Visibility & Exposure Management Own OT cybersecurity architecture and control requirements for manufacturing environments, including segmentation, secure remote access, identity and privileged access, monitoring, vulnerability management, hardening, and recovery. Establish cybersecurity requirements for authoritative OT asset, software, network, vulnerability, dependency, and criticality data. Drive measurable visibility into connected assets, exposures, blind spots, risk priorities, and remediation progress. Provide security leadership for modernization, automation, connected manufacturing, AI, and digital manufacturing initiatives. Assurance, Transformation & Continuous Improvement Support internal audit, regulatory assessments, customer requirements, cybersecurity assurance, and site-level adoption of OT security requirements. Mature OT cybersecurity from individual projects to a sustainable, measurable global capability across asset visibility, segmentation, vulnerability management, monitoring, secure access, incident response, and cyber recovery. Use metrics, threat intelligence, incidents, exercises, and risk data to continuously improve the program and enable secure innovation. People, Investment & Resource Leadership Build and lead a high-performing, globally distributed OT cybersecurity organization with clear objectives, accountability, succession plans, and career pathways. Develop and manage the OT cybersecurity investment portfolio, operating budget, and risk-based business cases. Prioritize resources toward areas of greatest operational and cybersecurity risk while fostering partnership, ownership, continuous improvement, inclusion, and safety. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline required. Advanced degree such as an MBA, MS, or equivalent preferred. Experience 10&#43; years of progressive experience across cybersecurity, OT/ICS security, technology, engineering, or manufacturing. Significant experience securing industrial, manufacturing, ICS, or OT environments in a complex global organization. Strong experience in cybersecurity risk management, architecture, vulnerability management, security operations, incident response, and resilience. Experience partnering with manufacturing, engineering, infrastructure, and business leadership. Demonstrated people leadership, talent development, and executive communication experience. Technical & Cybersecurity Expertise Strong understanding of ICS, SCADA, industrial networks, automation, and manufacturing technology. Deep knowledge of OT cybersecurity architecture, segmentation, asset visibility, secure access, monitoring, vulnerability management, incident response, and resilience. Working knowledge of recognized cybersecurity and industrial security frameworks, including NIST CSF and IEC 62443. Ability to translate technical OT risk into business impact, priorities, and action. Preferred Certifications CISSP, CISM, or equivalent cybersecurity leadership certification. GICSP, GRID, or comparable ICS/OT cybersecurity certification. <
