Job Description Title: Scientific Business Analyst Location: Cambridge, MA (Hybrid) About the role: As the Scientific Business Analyst, you will serve as the primary owner and administrator for a portfolio of scientific data and informatics platforms that support research operations across the organization. You will be responsible for the stability, configuration, and lifecycle management of critical scientific systems — including electronic lab notebook (ELN) platforms, compound/assay data registration systems, and the reporting infrastructure built on top of them. You will act as the bridge between scientific end users, IT, and vendors, ensuring these platforms remain reliable, compliant, and aligned with evolving research needs. How will you contribute: Serve as Application Manager / Resource Owner for core scientific informatics platforms, including the Dotmatics Scientific Cloud Platform (GENI and GNOSIS), Arxspan (across multiple business instances), and Revvity Signals, ensuring each system's configuration, access, and performance meet business needs. Administer and maintain ELN systems, including active platforms and legacy/archived ELN environments, ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and compliance with retention requirements. Own and maintain the Legacy ELN and Legacy Arxspan data archives, including legal/compliance-driven archive requirements. Design, build, and maintain Power BI reporting solutions that give scientific and business stakeholders visibility into platform data, including GENI data analysis, legacy ELN and Arxspan data, and GNOSIS dashboards. Manage and troubleshoot supporting tools such as XLfit and internal tracking systems (e.g., TR Tracker). Partner with scientific end users to gather requirements, triage issues, and translate business/scientific needs into system configurations or reporting solutions. Coordinate with vendors (Dotmatics, Revvity, and others) on platform upgrades, support tickets, and roadmap alignment. Collaborate with colleagues managing related systems (e.g., GNOSIS) to ensure consistent data governance and platform strategy across the broader informatics ecosystem. Support ownership transitions of platforms as team responsibilities evolve, ensuring continuity of documentation, access, and institutional knowledge. Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting efficiency, and platform usability for research stakeholders. What you bring to Takeda: Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, scientific informatics, data science, information technology, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. Demonstrated experience administering scientific informatics platforms, such as electronic laboratory notebook, compound registration, assay data, or comparable scientific data systems. Experience managing application access, configuration, operational support, and platform lifecycle activities. Experience working directly with scientists and research stakeholders to understand scientific data and workflow requirements. Experience translating business and scientific needs into system configurations, reporting solutions, or operational improvements. Experience developing and maintaining reports or dashboards using complex, multi-source scientific datasets. Preferred: Advanced degree in life sciences, scientific informatics, data science, or a related discipline. Experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life-sciences research, or regulated R&D environment. Experience administering Dotmatics GENI or GNOSIS, Arxspan, Revvity Signals, or similar scientific informatics platforms. Experience managing legacy or archived ELN and scientific data environments. Experience supporting data-retention, legal-hold, or compliance-driven archive requirements. Experience developing Power BI solutions from ELN, compound, assay, registration, or other scientific data sources. Experience coordinating platform upgrades, vendor support tickets, and product-roadmap discussions. Experience supporting application ownership transitions and preserving institutional knowledge.
