A Day in the Life The Endoscopy Operating Unit develops software-enabled solutions that support the detection, prevention, and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases and cancers. The team partners across engineering, product, and clinical functions to deliver connected technologies, cloud platforms, and digital capabilities that enhance patient management, clinician workflows, and healthcare outcomes globally. This position is based in Hyderabad, India and follows a Flex work arrangement, combining onsite and remote work based on business and team needs. No travel is anticipated for this role. As a Principal Enterprise Software Engineer, you will lead the design and development of cloud-native software solutions that integrate with connected medical technologies. This role is responsible for driving technical architecture, full-stack application development, cloud engineering practices, and scalable platform capabilities while supporting product delivery throughout the software development lifecycle. Primary Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and implementation of full-stack cloud services and applications that integrate with connected medical products. Architect and develop scalable microservices, application programming interfaces (APIs), and distributed systems using Python, FastAPI, React, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) technologies. Conduct technical design reviews and code reviews to ensure software quality, maintainability, security, and performance. Evaluate and recommend cloud services, frameworks, and technology solutions to support business and product requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, plan releases, and deliver solutions across all phases of the software development lifecycle. Develop and maintain technical documentation supporting regulatory, quality, operational, and business requirements. Implement and enhance DevOps practices, continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and cloud infrastructure capabilities. Troubleshoot production issues, monitor system performance, and drive continuous improvements to application reliability and operational efficiency. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline and 12+ years of software engineering experience, including 6+ years of full-stack web application development using Python. Experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale microservices and distributed systems architectures. Experience developing cloud-native applications utilizing AWS and container technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker. Experience with API management, event-driven architectures, real-time data processing, and PostgreSQL database development. Experience developing front-end applications using React or Angular, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Preferred Qualifications Experience developing software products within the medical device industry or another regulated industry. Experience applying object-oriented programming principles and established software design patterns. Experience with networking and communication protocols used in distributed application environments. Experience implementing security controls, risk analysis activities, and secure software development practices. Experience working within Agile software development environments and contributing to DevOps delivery models.
