Position Summary: The Analyst IV prepares and analyzes environmental samples according to scientific and environmental protection methodology in compliance with Eurofins Environment Testing America’s Quality Assurance programs and standard operating procedures. Must be skilled with sophisticated and complex laboratory instruments and software. Must be experienced in method modification and special testing requests. Reports and interprets data for client samples by performing a broad range of analyses using independent selection and adaptation of methods and techniques. Validates and reviews data for accuracy through Level I and II reviews. Uploads laboratory data into LIMS system to generate data packages for submittal to clients. Schedules sample workload according to due dates and sample hold times. Must be knowledgeable of a broad range of laboratory testing equipment requiring the exercise of discretion and judgment in its operation. Ideally looking for hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting lab instrumentation such as GC-MS, GC-QQQ, GC-FID, GC-ECD, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, Wet Chemistry instrumentation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs laboratory procedures requiring advanced knowledge of scientific methods and testing procedures including: Batching and prepping samples for analysis taking into account special and varied client and quality assurance requirements Making reagents for sample analysis Aliquots extracted samples to maximize laboratory productivity Preparing appropriate standards to ensure compliant data Determining appropriate analysis methods for a wide variety of organic and inorganic samples using both routine and complex matrices Operation, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory instruments Scheduling priority of samples to be analyzed to meet deadlines and maintain sample integrity Uploads data into LIMS system to provide Reporting Department with the necessary information to produce data packages. Performs Level I review of data to ensure compliance with scientific methods and standard operating procedures. Maintains logbooks. Monitors refrigerator temperatures Responsible for performing job functions within Eurofins Environment Testing America’s Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance standards. Maintains housekeeping standards for work area. Inventories and stocks laboratory supplies. Performs Level II review of data to finalize data for Project Managers and clients. Record retention of finalized data. Updates supervisors and Project Managers on sample status and analysis issues. Consults with Program Managers to clarify nomenclature and analysis results. Orders supplies. Washes and inventories glassware. Writes NCM’s for projects with Quality Assurance issues. Purges analyzed samples. Assists in training new analysts on laboratory procedures. Assists in other areas of laboratory when needed. Attends month Environmental Health & Safety meetings to stay current with industry safety and waste disposal methods. Education/Experience (BMQ): BS/BA degree in chemistry or related field. 3 years laboratory experience may substitute for degree. Minimum 6 years’ experience in laboratory procedures, preferably in a production environment Supervisory Responsibility: Reviews the work of other analysts (Level I & II review) to produce finalized data for data packages. Assists lower level analysts in analytical procedures, instrument usage, and report production. May fill in for Supervisor in their absence. Ability and/or Skills (BMQ): Analytical and/or General Science Scientific methods and method compliance Strong mathematics background Knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures Operating and calibrating laboratory instruments Skilled with computers and laboratory software Advanced knowledge of laboratory procedures Laboratory safety rules and chemical hazards Problem solving skills Good communication skills Computer skills Organizational skills Word processing and working with spreadsheets Report review Requirements: Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English Position is full-time, Monday – Friday 2nd shift. But flexible with 1st shift, if needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of North Kingstown, RI are encouraged to apply.  Pay range: $28-38/hr depending on experience. Please note - Eurofins Environment Testing (USA) provides a compensation range for informational purposes, the actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience and skill set, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location.
