In this vital role you will lead and execute strategies that strengthen employee engagement, culture, and the overall employee experience at the Amgen North Carolina (ANC) site. The role also serves as the site lead for workforce onboarding readiness, coordinating visibility to hiring demand, onboarding progress, supplier-supported resources, and readiness risks across ANC. Working closely with Human Resources, Corporate Affairs, site leadership, and cross-functional partners, you will translate employee insights and business priorities into meaningful initiatives that build connection, inclusion, accountability, and high performance. The successful candidate should be self-motivated, strategic and execution-focused and can independently drive initiatives, influence across functions, and effectively communicate and present recommendations to executive leadership. Translate employee feedback, engagement data, and organizational priorities into targeted actions that strengthen connection, collaboration, recognition, inclusion, and accountability. Drive site engagement and culture strategy, partnering with Human Resources, Corporate Affairs, the Site Connected Culture Team, and site leadership to develop and execute initiatives aligned with ANC priorities and employee needs. Lead innovative employee engagement, recognition, wellness, and culture initiatives that reinforce ANC leadership expectations and create a positive employee experience. In partnership with Corporate Affairs, develop executive-ready communications, presentations, insights, and recommendations and confidently present to site and senior leadership. Own and continuously improve the ANC New Hire Orientation and onboarding experience for employees and applicable contingent workers, coordinating Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Digital Innovation & Technology, Security, Facilities, hiring managers, and other functions to ensure a timely, compliant, and consistent transition into the organization. Lead site workforce onboarding and headcount-tracking processes, partnering with Human Resources and Talent Acquisition, Finance, functional leaders, resource suppliers, and internal hiring-support teams to maintain visibility to approved demand, hiring and onboarding progress, actual headcount, forecasts, fulfillment status, open gaps, and emerging workforce risks — including staff and contingent-worker needs, access, next-gen environment, equipment and orientation completion—resolve barriers, and escalate risks and decisions to functional and site leadership. Establish tools, dashboards, metrics, and standardized processes for engagement, onboarding, and workforce initiatives, providing leadership with clear insights, risks, and actionable recommendations. Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve organizational effectiveness, and strengthen employee experience across the site. Basic Qualifications: High school diploma / GED and 10 years of engagement performance management experience OR Associate’s degree and 8 years of engagement performance management experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of engagement performance management experience OR Master’s degree and 2 years of engagement performance management experience OR Doctorate degree Preferred Qualifications: Experience coordinating workforce planning, hiring/onboarding operations, contingent workforce management, staffing suppliers, or resource fulfillment in a complex organization. Experience leading employee engagement, culture, communications, employee experience, organizational effectiveness, or related programs. Highly proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable independently driving complex initiatives with limited supervision. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and evolving environment. Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate effectively across functions and organizational levels. Strong executive presence with excellent written, verbal, facilitation, and presentation skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to translate data and employee insights into practical recommendations. Demonstrated creativity and willingness to introduce new approaches, challenge existing practices, and drive continuous improvement. Strong interpersonal, relationship-management, negotiation, and active-listening skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Suite; Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook; experience with Power BI, Smartsheet, MS Project, or similar project management tools preferred. Experience in manufacturing, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or another complex operating environment preferred. The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
