Job Description The Associate Vice President, Manufacturing is a key member of the Site Leadership Team, responsible for leading Manufacturing, Technical Operations, and Quality Investigation functions for a growing biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical manufacturing business. This executive leader will drive operational excellence, scalable growth, financial performance, and customer satisfaction while ensuring the highest levels of quality, regulatory compliance, and employee engagement. The role will play a critical part in shaping the long-term manufacturing strategy to support BIOVECTRA's continued expansion and strategic objectives. As a member of the Site Leadership Team, the Associate Vice President, Manufacturing will help shape site strategy, organizational capability, operational performance, and long-term business growth initiatives. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership across Manufacturing, Technical Operations, and Quality Investigation functions, partnering with cross-functional leaders to deliver operational excellence, achieve business objectives, and support strategic growth initiatives. Own business unit financial performance, including revenue delivery, expense management, productivity improvements, operating margins, and capital planning in support of overall business objectives. Develop and implement strategies that improve operational capabilities, organizational effectiveness, workforce development, and overall business performance through data-driven decision making and leadership development. Make decisions, prioritize work, and effectively manage multiple functions, teams, and leaders to ensure alignment with operational and business objectives. Lead operational budgeting and resource allocation activities, ensuring achievement of quality, productivity, cost, and profitability objectives while supporting future business growth. Lead manufacturing readiness, capacity planning, and operational scaling initiatives to support business growth, new customer programs, and future expansion opportunities. Partner with Engineering in the selection, design, and implementation of process equipment required to support manufacturing operations and strategic initiatives. Partner with cross-functional leaders to align manufacturing strategy, operational capabilities, and future product innovation initiatives with BIOVECTRA's long-term growth objectives. Ensure manufacturing capabilities meet or exceed industry, regulatory, customer, quality, cost, and delivery requirements. Approve project evaluations, planning activities, and operational cost estimates. Serve as an executive representative with key customers and manufacturing partners, leading strategic discussions, business reviews, and senior-level negotiations that strengthen long-term partnerships and support business growth. Approve operational procedures, policies, and standards to ensure compliance, efficiency, and operational excellence. Ensure organizational training programs and compliance activities meet all applicable regulatory and quality requirements. Provide regular progress updates and reports, proactively identifying risks, roadblocks, and mitigation plans. Build and develop a high-performing leadership team through talent acquisition, succession planning, performance management, coaching, employee engagement, and professional development initiatives. Adhere to BIOVECTRA's Health and Safety Policy as outlined in CP0010 Occupational Health and Safety Policy, Statements of Principle, and Responsibilities. Operational Excellence / Continuous Improvement Champion a culture of Operational Excellence across the organization, driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, customer experience, productivity, and business performance. Sponsor transformational initiatives that improve operational performance through process optimization, technology enablement, and adoption of best practices. Lead organizational change efforts by fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement through data-driven decision making, root cause analysis, and sustainable problem-solving methodologies. Proactively cultivate a culture that embraces accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and a strong commitment to delivering on commitments. Influence positive, accountable, and high-performing professional behaviors throughout the organization. Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies, cost savings, and process improvements that create long-term value for the organization. Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent broad senior leadership experience in Engineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related discipline. Advanced degree an asset. 12&#43; years of progressive leadership experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, biopharmaceutical, CDMO, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments. Strong track record of delivering safety, quality, productivity, cost, and schedule performance. Demonstrated experience leading large, cross-functional organizations and developing high-performing leadership teams in a regulated manufacturing environment. Experience leading manufacturing operations within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, biopharmaceutical, or CDMO environment with accountability over operational, financial, and customer outcomes. Strong understanding of scheduling, supply chain, maintenance, engineering, quality, and technical operations interfaces. Proven ability to develop financial plans, manage resources, analyze financial data, and drive business performance. Proven track record of driving operational excellence, business growth, organizational transformation, and scalable manufacturing performance. Knowledge Knowledge of a wide range of technical skills and unit operations related to both biotech and API manufacturing processes. Demonstrated leadership, negotiation, and decision-making capabilities. Strong knowledge of ICH Guidelines, cGMP regulations, quality systems, EHS, and regulatory compliance requirements. Professional-level written communication, change leadership, stakeholder management, organizational, computer, and interpersonal skills. Strong knowledge in lean manufacturing, KPIs, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
