Position Summary
We are seeking a strategic, analytical, and highly collaborative leader to serve as ourAssociate Director/Senior Manager of Health Economics & Outcomes Research(HEOR) Oncology. In this high-impact role, you will lead the development and executionof health economic and outcomes evidence demonstrating the clinical and economicvalue of Natera’s precision molecular diagnostic technologies across oncology andemerging indications.
You will develop health economic models, generate real-world and clinical-trialevidence, lead HEOR publication initiatives, and translate complex clinical andeconomic data into compelling evidence supporting market access, reimbursement,payer adoption, clinical adoption, and commercialization. Working across MedicalAffairs, Clinical Development, Biostatistics, Market Access, Commercial, Marketing,Regulatory, and Business Development, you will help integrate HEOR evidencethroughout the product lifecycle—from clinical development and evidence generationthrough publication, reimbursement, and payer adoption.
This is a strategic role for an experienced HEOR professional who combines strongtechnical capabilities with scientific communication, business acumen, and the ability toinfluence cross-functional evidence strategy.

Key Responsibilities
Health Economic Modeling & Value Demonstration: Lead the development,validation, and application of health economic models, including budget impact,cost-effectiveness, cost-utility, cost-consequence, ROI, decision-tree,Markov/state-transition, partitioned-survival, and other economic models.Develop scenario and sensitivity analyses that quantify the clinical and economicvalue of precision diagnostics across different payer and healthcare-systemperspectives.
Clinical Development & HEOR Evidence Strategy: Partner with ClinicalDevelopment, Medical Affairs, Biostatistics, and other cross-functional teams tointegrate HEOR objectives into prospective clinical studies, including healthcareresource utilization, economic endpoints, patient-reported outcomes, quality-of-life measures, cost-data collection, and real-world evidence strategies. Ensureevidence-generation plans anticipate future payer, reimbursement, and HTArequirements.
Real-World Evidence & Outcomes Research: Analyze clinical-trial,observational, and real-world datasets to evaluate healthcare resource utilization,cost of care, treatment pathways, diagnostic utilization, clinical utility, comparativeeffectiveness, patient outcomes, survival, budget impact, and quality-adjusted lifeyears. Translate findings into actionable evidence supporting clinical, payer, andbusiness decisions.
Publication & Scientific Evidence Leadership: Lead HEOR publicationstrategy and development of peer-reviewed manuscripts, scientific abstracts,conference posters, oral presentations, white papers, and technical reports.Coordinate publication plans and timelines with investigators, key opinionleaders, academic collaborators, and external research partners to ensureevidence generation is aligned with strategic business priorities.
Market Access & Payer Evidence: Partner with Market Access, Medical Affairs,Marketing, and Commercial teams to translate HEOR evidence into payer valuepropositions, budget impact summaries, value dossiers, reimbursementmaterials, health economic briefs, health-system value calculators, account-specific economic tools, and other evidence-based value communications.
Global HEOR Strategy: Develop and adapt health economic evidence andpayer models for the U.S. and international markets, including Europe, Japan,Canada, Australia, and other priority geographies. Support reimbursementsubmissions and evidence strategies aligned with HTA and payer requirementsacross healthcare systems.
Cross-Functional & External Collaboration: Serve as a strategic HEORpartner across Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Biostatistics, MarketAccess, Commercial, Marketing, Regulatory, and Business Development.Collaborate with external consultants, academic investigators, KOLs, andresearch partners to execute high-quality evidence-generation initiatives.
Core Skills & Competencies
Health Economics & Outcomes Research: Deep understanding of healtheconomic modeling, outcomes research, healthcare resource utilization, real-world evidence, cost-of-care analysis, comparative effectiveness, and valueassessment methodologies.
Economic Modeling: Demonstrated ability to develop and critically evaluatebudget impact, cost-effectiveness, cost-utility, ROI, decision-tree, Markov/state-transition, and related economic models.
Payer & Market Access Strategy: Strong understanding of payer evidencerequirements and the ability to translate clinical and economic evidence intocompelling value propositions supporting reimbursement, coverage, andadoption.
Evidence Generation & Clinical Strategy: Ability to integrate HEOR endpointsand evidence requirements into clinical development and real-world researchprograms, anticipating future reimbursement and HTA needs.
Scientific Communication & Publication: Strong scientific writing andcommunication skills with experience translating complex analyses intomanuscripts, abstracts, presentations, value dossiers, payer materials, andexecutive-level communications.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Proven ability to work across clinical, medical,statistical, market access, commercial, and business functions and to influenceevidence strategy in a matrixed organization.
Global Perspective: Understanding of U.S. and international reimbursementenvironments and major HTA frameworks, including ICER, NICE, CADTH,PBAC, IQWiG, and Japanese reimbursement processes.
Qualifications
Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, DrPH, or Master's degree) in HealthEconomics, Outcomes Research, Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics,Pharmacy, Health Services Research, or a related discipline.
5–10+ years of HEOR experience within biotechnology, pharmaceuticals,diagnostics, medical devices, consulting, academia, or a related healthcareenvironment.
Demonstrated experience developing and applying health economic models andconducting outcomes research using clinical-trial and/or real-world datasets.
Experience supporting payer evidence generation, reimbursement strategy, valuedossiers, market access initiatives, and scientific publications.
Experience with precision medicine, molecular diagnostics, companiondiagnostics, ctDNA, molecular residual disease (MRD), donor-derived cell-freeDNA (dd-cfDNA), next-generation sequencing, biomarker-guided treatmentstrategies, or oncology diagnostics is highly desirable.
Familiarity with advanced economic and analytical tools such as Microsoft Excel,TreeAge Pro, R, SAS, STATA, Python, SQL, Tableau/Power BI, and statisticalanalysis software is preferred.The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.Remote USA$157,000—$218,000 USD
